We picked this community, others told us how nice it was. I told a friend today who is looking for a place for her mom that it is an amazing place for my mom. Mom & I both love everything about the Facility!
I was not impressed with the food. Mainly convenience foods that are high in sodium. My dad needed to be on a diabetic low sodium diet and they really couldn't accommodate that.
My loved one is currently a resident at Jewel Place. It is a clean and well kept facility. Small and family like with an excellent, attentive and caring staff. They offer a range of services. The activities are great and they have one at least once a day, which is appropriate given its small size. I would definitely recommend Jewel Place for someone who is looking for a small community.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is an establishment that offers residence to two or more persons who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its residents with around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These nurses provide care for those who cannot properly take care of their own needs.
Nursing homes can be a convenient and comfortable care choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will often admit individuals 55 and older seldom heard of in senior care regarding different care types. Some services come at an extra cost which can include a private room, unless medically needed, specially prepared food, and personal reading materials. A significant amount of inhabitants are bachelors or widows with smaller social support groups, and about half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. Often times individuals might prefer life in a nursing home over another type of community due to a physical or mental impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their standard of living. Nursing homes are required to provide pharmaceutical services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), a professionallly directed program of activities, and emergency dental services to residents. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to form or participate in resident groups, have your representative notified about your care, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, and spend time with visitors.
