Oak Park Place - Dubuque
4.0

1 my husband was having health problems and that's the reason we moved here to be close to kids but everybody has been really nice and very helpful 2 it could be a little better. It looks like somethings are just old and need to be replaced like carpeting, and outdoor decks need to be power washed. 3 everyone here is just lovely. My husband and I are glad we're here and we've got so many friends already. 4 we have a senior apartment and I also have people coming in to help me with my husband and that was very important when we signed up here 5 the food is pretty good, there is always something different on the menu and if you don't like it, all you have to do is put in what you want on your order 6 I don't do any of the activities because I'm busy taking care of my husband. He does the rosary and we both do the pub on Wednesday and ice cream socials on Friday and Sunday. 7 I really don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems to be pretty good for us

Trustwell Living at Eagle Pointe Place in Dubuque, IA
5.0

Eagle Pointe Place is just what we needed. It's a friendly place. There are plenty of things going on. The apartment is very nice. It's spacious and clean, with lots of closet space. It's almost too big! But it's better to have too much space than not enough. The only thing I think might be nicer is if they had more trees and shade outside, and perhaps work opportunities for the residents. They have a nice little garden in the back - it's just hot in the summer. It would also be nice to see more outdoor activities on the grounds. They do take the residents on outings to the arboretum and things like that.

Ellen Kennedy Living Center a CCRC in Dyersville, IA
4.3

Ellen Kennedy Living Center has done well in our experience. You could do a lot worse than this community. I believe this community has better value for what you pay, you are getting good value overall. The staff are very communicative with the family, and responsive to our questions or concerns. The breakfast is continental and the resident can choose what they want from what is available. There are options for lunch and dinner for the residents choose from.

Dyersville, Iowa

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a handy equilibrium between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about the maintenance of basic tasks and responsibilities. Daily needs such as housekeeping and the scheduling of social activities are taken care of, which permits occupants more opportunities to live life as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of independent medical providers, they always have the option. There are a number of costs and advantages to consider when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in your care plan: internet access, field trips, housekeeping, cable TV, Waiting list deposit, parking, wellness program, and move-in fee. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include security guards, restaurant-style dining hall, game/TV room, laundry service, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, golf course, and private rental hall.
