Cantata Adult Life Services a CCRC in Brookfield, IL
4.8

I recommend Cantata because they have a robust rehab gym staffed with professionals in physical therapy, occupational therapy, balance, speech/memory therapy. It is located on a quiet tree lined landscaped campus with onsite Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Independent Living. The staff communicates very well with the resident and the family. Price is fair market/moderate.

Gurnee Meadows

I’m living here currently and it’s going really, really well. I’m very pleased. When I moved in, my apartment was perfect. I had new carpet and new paint and it was really a pleasure to be able to move in. I was on the waiting list for a few months but they were able to give me exactly what I wanted, including my own parking space in the underground garage. The staff is very helpful. The only issue I ever see is that maybe someone forgets to vacuum the elevator because it’s a high traffic area but the community room and the lobby is just beautiful and they decorate for every holiday. It makes you feel like you’re living in a house because of the decorating. They don’t serve food but they provide small full-sized kitchens in the apartments. They provide plenty of activities like bingo, card games, there’s a movie every Friday night, and they have special dinner events about once a month. The other residents so far have been very friendly and very welcoming. They’ve met all of my needs and expectations and I would recommend them.

Victory Centre of Elk Grove in Elk Grove Village, IL
5.0

My brother lives in Victory Centre of Elk Grove Village, IL. I visit him frequently and I have found it to be Clean, Friendly and warm. The Staff from Administration to Nursing, Dining, and Maintence are all warm and caring, they know the residents' names, are respectful and always willing to address their personal needs and requests. We moved my brother from St. Louis, Mo to here in Elk Grove Village. I wasn't sure that he would like it, but he definitly does, which makes me happy, because he is only about 10 minutes away from me and I can take him shopping, to doctors appointments, or just bring him to my place if he wants, and as a matter of fact he did spend the holiday with me and the rest of our family! My sister and I live in a senior apartment complex, and just moved one of our neighbors there as well, and as luck would have it she lives right next door to my brother!! It's a very nice place.

Independent Living

For seniors who would like to live primarily without personal assistance but would like the advantage of having daily tasks and responsibilities maintained by professionalls, an Independent Living Community may be the perfect fit. Basic chores such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private health care professionalls. There are a number of expenditures and benefits to keep in mind when determining an independent living community.
