Alegro is always clean and everyone is friendly. I feel that my brother is safe there. If something goes arrive, I'll depend on the staff to give me a call so we can fix it right away. I feel good every time I visit him and relief that he lives there.

Red Hills Village Retirement Resort in Tallahassee, FL

Smooth move in experience. Residents very friendly. Food is terrific and plentiful. Lots of activities to engage in. I love the flexible dining experience. And if you want a cup of coffee or a soft served ice cream at any time, it is available. They have a wide range of games, religious functions, choice of movies in the theater, football games (complete with popcorn) in the theater. They have 135 TV channels if you want to relax in your own room. The individual thermostat lets you set a comfortable temperature for you. The apartments are virtually sound proof. They provide unlimited hot water. I love not having to pay bills. The taxes, and utilities are included in the rent. Maintenance, yardwork and house keeping are provided. I raised a family and waited on them. Now it’s my turn to be pampered. Red Hills is a great place.

Having only been in this community 2 months. I can only tell you this because of Covid, the place has been more or less shut down. I do not feel I can fairly make a positive review since our time is mostly spent in one apartment. I feel communications is not up to par. A weekly report would be much appriciated.

Cairo, Georgia

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the chance to live their active lives while assuring their fundamental needs have been fulfilled. Basic tasks such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a variety of advantages and costs to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are included in your plan: parking, move-in fee, private phone, meals, laundry, utilities, Waiting list deposit, and field trips. The benefits that pertain to independent living include private rental hall, beauty salon & barber shop, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, laundry service, and healthcare center.
