I have been a resident (independent) for 17 1/12 years. The community is just the right size (# of residents). The staff is welcoming and friendly, although I do not need care services, it's important to know it 's available. A resident can be as involved in the community as they whish to be. I Recommend MW!

Complete guide to independent living

New Britain, Connecticut

Independent Living

If you or your loved one want the peace of mind of having your housekeeping handled by professionalls while living the way you desire, you might want to consider independent living. Occupants can use their free time as they see fit while their meals are prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and social activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies vary between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent medical professionalls, they always have the option. There are a number of expenditures and advantages to keep in mind while choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in the service plan: housekeeping, move-in fee, meals, internet access, private phone, transportation, utilities, and field trips. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include concierge services, beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, game/TV room, golf course, private rental hall, transportation, and community activities.
