Safe facility, the workers are great and work hard, just seem to be shorthanded. Would like to see more organized staff led activities.
We were very impressed with the overall appearance. The grounds are beautiful and the lobby is like a nice hotel. The rooms are bright and inviting. There is a large lounge when you first enter and a small bar area that always has coffee ready and fresh fruit flavored water. The room themselves are well laid out with ample room in the bathroom for movement with a walker or wheelchair. There is a small balcony that looks onto the grounds. My father has a studio with a pony wall that separates his bed from the main living area and it is quite adequate in size and layout. My father has not needed any of the levels of care, so I can’t really address that but I do know he’s receiving both PT and OT, and seems to like the therapists quite well. The staff are friendly, and maintenance has been great and responding to my father‘s needs in the room. Overall I have a very good impression of Granite Gate. Dad has been there two months now.
I am very pleased with Highgate Senior Living for my mother. The environment is warm and comfortable, the care staff is exceptional, the activities are varied and numerous. Mom was at a different assisted living facility for the 1 1/2 years before Highgate, but was not getting enough attention there. Now I don't need to worry that things are being done for her as promised, whereas before I had to follow people around to be sure she actually got the help she needed. I am very happy with Highgate.
