We toured with Wyndmoor in Castleton, and my husband and I were not too fond of it. The location of the facility was further away, also I didn't hear a lot of interaction between the marketing director and residents.
Good community, too far from family.
This community wasn't very clean during the tour.
While no facility is perfect...this place is overall a great place. As with everywhere COVID has effected our facility but the admin has taken our safety very seriously and has taken many protective measures to protect us.

Our family has had a few encounters with the nursing staff that turned out to be very unpleasant. They have screwed up our loved ones medication consistently, over and over since day one.

Overall our experience has good been good, and the community is expensive but it is one of the least in terms of value in the area. We do believe the activities are still shut down for the most part.

I spoke with [name removed], Director of Nursing, [name removed], Executive Director and [name removed]. All of these individuals have been rude. [name removed] stated she has the ability to deny a potential resident for whatever reasons she chooses. She would not provide reasons why my father would not be able to be a resident. She also stated that they do not have the ability to care for patients. This is not an ASSISTED Living facility she stated they only take fully independent residents. Do not choose this facility.

For the most part, the staff was very nice and responsive. The front desk people were always very kind and helpful. For months, we were only able to do window visits, so it was hard to tell what exactly was going. on. At the end, they did allow our family to come in and be with our loved one, which was really nice considering all the Covid restrictions. Sometimes they've been understaffed, but even so, they've been fairly responsive. I think food is the biggest issue right now. It has been delivered to the rooms in a Styrofoam box, is frequently cold, and one day there was a chicken breast and nothing else. It's pretty bland, with not much variety. On the flipside, we understand how challenging it is to deliver hundreds of meals a day, and I think that they're trying. They're back to alternating floors to come into the dining room, so it's a little better there served warm. There was an issue with some of the aides, but they are no longer employed there.

It really is a good place to have a loved one in. The nurses and the assistants are friendly and caring. This is a place we don't have to worry that our parents aren't getting the care they need.

This facility is wonderful! Everyone is friendly. The staff are so helpful. I feel safe here. When I have been ill they have taken care of me. There are many things to do, including a raised garden, movies, board games and cards, daily crossword puzzles, sudoku, jumbo. They have washers and dryers available and a huge library.

Wyndmoor is doing the best following the rules the health dept has imposed on the residents. I've been here since [date removed] so fairly new here. [name removed] and staff are doing an excellent job to keep the place running smooth.

The brilliance of this community is they exceptional, and caring staff. The staff knows what they are doing. The administration team also knows what they are doing, especially during an end of life situation. My concerns wasn't about the look of the building. I was more concerned with the exceptional care my loved one received.

We had a great experience working with Pam and the rest of the staff at the Wyndmoor this summer. It was a challenge to find the right community fit for my father during the pandemic but the folks at Wyndmoor made it very easy, hosting virtual tours, and worked with us on getting my father moved in while keeping all the staff and residents of the community safe and healthy!

A Place for Mom has scored Wyndmoor of Castleton 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
