It's a beautiful facility and good value compared to other places by far. Administration needs help. Very high turnover in kitchen and administration. Help leads to inconsistencies. When my aunt had a stroke She had to be reassessed by many who disagreed And it ended up costing an additional [fee removed] a month in care by the facility which we felt was ridiculous. But for a healthy adult, it's an excellent place Administration was the biggest headache so far. We are still dealing with her trying to get back home from the nursing home after her stroke. Still I would recommend this place. Just be understanding of high. Much assisted care will cost as one progresses or has any healthcare crises. Good location. Staff are very friendly and attentive and responsive except for administration when you have serious health needs and considerations or changes. Very high turnover in kitchen staff meant sometimes there are no servers and no consistency in the menu and elderly people become very attached as we all do to their favorites on the menu.

I would give all a 5 for Westmont of Milpitas . Unfortunately, my father passed away last July. The staff and the other people living there. They really looked out for my dad.

We have been very disappointed in this facility. There is no transportation available which has caused a lot of problems. The food is inedible and both my parents have lost a lot of weight. A care giver hit my father but was not fired. I would move them out but it would be a very difficult task.

I'd say it is a pleasant place with good food and nice people. However, they have holes in their services due to short staffing. Also they have a dryer stacked on the washer that is too high for 90 percent of the people to use.All that said, everyone I talked to are happy their.

Not really set up for handicap residents. Their shuttle does not take people with a walker or wheelchair. You have to get up the stairs on your own. As it is nice that the washer and dryer are in the room, some ate nor tall enough to use the buttons for the dryer. They do not give residents (in independent care) their privacy. They knock on the door and then come right in. The residents do support each other. That is needed, because sometimes the staff is not as helpful. The staff turns over frequently.

Response from Westmont of Milpitas
March 14, 2024We are sorry that you have been experiencing difficulty, though we have solutions that will make your life easier. First, you will be pleased to know that we have a new “class B” driver who will be driving our bus, with a wheelchair lift, five days a week. We also have a contract with “Access”, a local senior transportation company that has a wheelchair lift. If you would like to use the “Access” service, please sign up at the front desk. With regard to your washer/dryer, please ask for staff member assistance. Finally, we invite you to attend the Executive Director Forum every Wednesday at 2 p.m. or any monthly Town Hall meeting to bring up any issues or concerns that you might have. We want you to be happy in your new home.
There is no transportation. I’m sorry I got rid of my car. There is no physical therapy as of this weekend and we haven’t been told who’s going to take their place. There are no activities since the Activity Director quit. Generally, I am not satisfied with this place. The food is terrible except for breakfast, and they often run out of/or change the menu. We are treated like second-class citizens, and the last people that they notify about changes that impact us. The waiting staff is very nice. As are the nurses that we see occasionally. And the front desk people who seem to know more than anyone else about what’s going on. All in all it’s a bad mistake.

Response from Westmont of Milpitas
March 7, 2024We read all reviews, understand your feelings and want to respond to your comments. Hopefully this finds you in a happier place as moving into a new community can sometimes be an adjustment. The new Activities Director has hit the ground running with some amazing events such as the Super Bowl party, Chinese New Year celebration, Happy Hours and the perennial favorite Bingo. If you are a fitness enthusiast, check out our indoor pool. For more sedate fun, we have been organizing puzzles and board games. We hand out activity sheets daily along with online information in LifeLoop our communications platform. If you would like to map out a personal activity plan for yourself on a weekly basis, please reach out to our Activities Director and they can help guide you. - Westmont of Milpitas
There has been an enormous turnover in staff. So many open positions! It's kind of alarming! The staff that they do have are great, but there is not enough of them. Housekeeping is good. Communication is pretty much non-existent. The facility is really nice, I just wish there were more daily activities. It's sort of the same thing everyday, probably because they are so short in staff. The Activity Director just left, there is NO staff for rides to doctor, drug store etc. One person left to do things like arts and crafts. I was told there were two classes each week on water aerobics, they just started two weeks ago. I've been here for a few months and we are now on the third Director and Executive Chief since I've been here. The ones that are here now are temporary from corporate. If they could get their act together, this would be a fabulous place to live!

We chose Westmont of Milpitas because of the cleanliness, almost brand new, and it was the best value (all places about the same price). They have been awesome They clearly love their work there It seems like more than a job for them

The staff at Westmont of Milpitas are very friendly and helpful. Though there has been quite a bit of turnover with the staff. The housekeeping has improved. The food is a hit or a miss. Sometimes good. Other times not so good. Communication with the family has been good. I would recommend Westmont of Milpitas to others.

We picked it because 1) it was on the way home from my husband's work so she would get more visits. 2) the price was the best. 3) the room had a great view which we thought was a priority. The experience is mixed right now because it seems sometimes the care is not consistent. It says they will wash the towels and sheets but sometimes it looks like they are not washed.

The cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. My mother was quite ill at the time she moved in and they were very helpful when she fell Everything is great except for the meals and dining - they still do not have an executive chef. Otherwise our loved ones are very happy at Westmont of Milpitas.

I did a lot of research with my mother to find her this location. The building is nice and for the most part the staff is quite good. Unfortunately, the food service has been extremely disappointing for her. In the 2 1/2 months she’s been there they’ve lost their chef as well as other key parts of their kitchen staff. Instead of table service, it’s often Buffet. This would be occasionally workable, they have run out of food periodically and the quality of the food has been poor. Tough chicken, dried out ham and small portions have become the norm. Many of her neighbors have taken to cooking their own meals and she orders from grocery stores for supplemental snacks. Needless to say in an aged community, the dining experience is a big part of the experience for meeting new people and staying active. Westmont knows this, they sold their kitchen skills and dining experience as a big plus. So far, it’s not! After 2 1/2 months she’s just now able to schedule a meeting for PT.

This place was new, and it was near to my son.I'd say it's ok, Except for the food. They claim it's because they're having difficulty hiring people, but this a higher priced area and they knew that years ago.

What stood out to us about this facility is the price and that it's a brand new place. They have good activities. A little slow in the dining room. They provide housekeeping once a week. Overall very nice. I definitely recommend them to others.

My love one is not happy there. The food service is slow. The food is often cold and too tough to eat. They have meetings every month and people complain but nothing happens. I don't think I would recommend it. They added on a lot of extra fees after moving in.

Response from Westmont of Milpitas
March 20, 2023Anonymous, The quality of our food and our food service is important to everyone. We recently held an all-resident Chef Chat with the head of our food service that many residents said they appreciated. Also, our Dining Room Supervisor is the person that residents can talk to if their food seems cold or as you say “tough”. We will gladly have a server send it back to the kitchen and replaced it with a new order. With regard to extra fees, without knowing your specific issue it is hard for us to address this adequately. In any event, we prefer to discuss any issues directly with our residents. Best, Westmont of Milpitas
I would not recommend this place until they can fix these issues. After 4 months there still is no phone in the apartment unit. There is no internet. They have charged the wrong amount consistently every month overcharging. Broken promises constantly. Lack of response at times and slow response. Care providers are excellent. Television service is not what was promised had to fight to get some of the shows and sporting channels that were promised and still not all are available. Cell phones do not work in the building based on the construction they say.

I would recommend Westmont of Milpitas. They provide a lot of care. The only negative is that my loved one doesn't like the food, except for breakfast. But everything else is super.
Westmont is an amazing community and they have really made the transition for my mom very peaceful and fun actually. They treat the residents with so much compassion. They facilitated engagement with my mom and other residents by escorting her to the various activities and meals. They made sure to sit her with different people until she got acclimated and started making her own relationships.
