Western Slope Memory Care

I moved my husband into western slope the same week the new owners took over. It was extremely chaotic and I made the decision to place my husband there meeting with the former owners. It was the most difficult experience for me. Almost a month after he was there they informed me he was not a good fit for western slope and they wanted me to find a new place within a month - it became a nightmare! I got the ombudsman for the county involved and the nurse and social worker for hospice. We managed to get his medication stabilized and he was much better but they still wanted him out! He would walk into empty rooms and try to take the sconces (light) off the wall he even took a toilet off the floor which I paid for. He was an engineer....I just think it could have been handled differently. I never communicated with the new owners after they told me we had to find a new place. Maybe way too much information but it was a horrendous experience for me. The only nice part was the staff were so warm and caring to my husband and myself.

Let me tell you about Western Slope Memory Care. We feel fortunate that we found this facility through a place for mom. The staff was incredible. From [names removed] and the rest of the staff they were so compassionate and caring. They made sure they knew every resident by name. The place was always spotless. I highly recommend this facility.

Everything is going very well at Western Slope Memory Care. The staff team is friendly. The activity levels are high and the meals are great. The monthly schedule events upcoming are really handy, but it would be nice if it was available online.

The staff turnover interrupts the quality of good care. The private pay is expensive so we have very high expectations. The administrator always listens and is always willing to work and make improvements.

Staff were friendly and willing to work with us to provide care that was needed. Generally, it was working together. Generally communications were good. When not, bringing it to attention of the site manager got things worked out. We would recommend them.

When looking for a place for those who need memory care, this is the only place in the city that goes the extra mile. They communicate with family, the meals are top notch, and the care is absolutely wonderful. My Mom looks peppier than she has in a while. And best of all, she smiles and laughs more than before. Very highly recommended. This place is just plain awesome.

I wish to acknowledge the staff of Western Slope Memory Care for their hard work and enormous patience for helping my client get moved into her new home. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the accommodations are extremely clean. I would highly recommend Western Slope memory care for anyone who is looking for a specialized home for yourself or a loved one.

We picked this community becaue of the small number of residents. Like most of these places over promise and under deliver.

We have had a very positive experience. The facility is very clean, staff is friendly and helpful. When my father had some issues adjusting, they kept me informed of what they were doing to help him with the transition. The food is good. They have lots of activities for him to participate in, and give him lots of encouragement to do so. Their activity directors are great. The staff in general has been great. My father has not been left sitting alone in his room all day long. I would make sure anyone who is considering moving a loved one here is label everything well.

We moved our loved one into Western Slope from a previous community, and we have to say Western Slope has been great and is well planned out. They have wonderful administrative staff. The community staff is friendly, caring, and attentive to the needs of each resident. This new facility is well payed out and beautifully appointed. The staff takes excellent care of my family members and I would highly recommend it to anyone!!!

The activities are AMAZING! Housekeeping is well staffed and keeps things clean. They work with families. Staff is very kind, respectful, and interactive with the residents in a positive and encouraging way. I like that it is a locked facility. The new management is very caring and has been hiring good caregivers. The only suggestion I have for improvement would be maintenance, which seems to be improving. I know it's a busy area. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

The activities and activity director are absolutely amazing, it really is the best part about Western Slope. She takes the residents out on outdoor field trips - for the area they live in they will go look at the mountain areas, and drive around to look at the leaves changing colors. The even rented out a limo and drove the residents around to look at Christmas lights. The also go visit a llama farm quite often. We have not had a meal ourselves but the feedback we have heard is that it is really good. Based on the experience we have had so far we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

The experience was very good. They really kept the place clean. The food was excellent, and always really high quality. My loved one, wasn't too involved with the activies. It's expensive but quite worth. We picked this community because the rooms were beautiful, they had individual rooms, and they had close access to everything. Also, they offer memory care.

We were so lucky and blessed to have found Western Slope, the staff have just been incredible. They are always sincere with whatever they are doing. We have not met one person that was not kind, or professional. They always encouraged the residents to eat in the dining hall because it always was a wonderful experience. The meals and dining was just outstanding. They also offered a huge wide variety of activities for the residents to participate in.

This is a good place to put your parents. The caring nature of the staff, and friendliness of the staff stand out to me. Arts and crafts daily, exercise, weekly field trips, and more are some of the activities offered to the residents. My loved one seems to like the food.

We were so lucky to find Western Slope Memory Care for my spunky but rapidly deteriorating mother-in-law. She was in good hands in every way. ALL the staff seemed incredibly caring, skilled, and patient. We would highly recommend the Grand Junction facility without reservation.
