Waterford Towers is an excellent place for seniors who want to remain active, but could use some extra services. There is a salon, physician and physical therapists on site. The lobby is like a hotel lobby where people frequently socialize. My parents often enjoy dinning with their neighbors in the onsite dinning room, although my mother prepares most meals in her own well equipped kitchen. My mother enjoys many activities including maj jon, canaster, music appreciation club, opera club, book club, and knitting club. There is also a well equipped gym on site and medication is delivered to concierge desk by an excellent local pharmacy. Keep in mind this not assisted living and it is relatively expensive so it is not for everyone.... Read more

I really like living here, the food and the people are both very good. My only suggestion for improving it is based upon the many years I have spent advising companies about how to run more efficiently, so here is my advice: As in many retirement homes, the dining room should be run with serving people using tablets to write down the food orders, and then have that data automatically sent to the kitchen. This is really not an expensive investment and it will greatly improve the efficiency of the wait staff and the kitchen personal. Thanks, Howard Reiss

As an independent living facility Waterford Towers does a wonderful job. It's very nice looking, and everyone seems very friendly. They have a lot of different activities to do, but your loved one needs to be a bit socially aggressive, as there is nobody to introduce you to the activities, you just need to start showing up. Overall they're a very nice place, but they are a completely independent facility, so make sure your loved one is suited for that sort of environment.

We had a great experience with Waterford Towers, overall! It's a beautiful, clean, well kept community, and the staff and residents all seem very friendly. They've got all sorts of different amenities and activities to keep the residents entertained! My loved one really seems to be enjoying himself here.

My parents and an aunt have lived here 9 yrs. There is nowhere for them to take a walk outside, unless they drive to it; no sidewalks even exist. The nearest intersection is treacherous because drivers can and do turn on a green light into the lane where pedestrians are crossing. There is no room for visitors to stay in the building, & nearest hotel is $240/night, across that hazardous intersection. I am comparing this to equivalent retirement places in the state where I live, which seem to offer so much more. So perhaps this is considered good in NJ. My parents do like the staff and the other residents very much.

The community is clean and everyone is friendly. I would like to see a little bit more activities that are geared toward men. I like that they get to stay as independent as possible and pick and choose the assistance they need, or if they want meals. A lot of places were a lot more and included a lot of help we don't need yet.

It’s been great! It’s lovely! The woman who works in the leasing office, Susan. is fabulous! I’m looking forward to trying the food. It’s a very warm environment. I’m the one that has facilitated this for my loved ones. People seem very friendly. They have a lot of activities. It’s a lively sort of place to live, comfortable, very clean, and well maintained. My loved one's will be moving in soon!

My loved one does not take part in any activities yet, and I don't want to push her, so I can't really rate that yet. As for the food, sometimes she doesn't like it and I have to spruce it up for her, but most of the time it's good, so I would rate that as a 4. I find the staff are all very kind and everything is going very well here.

My mother-in-law is very happy here. She's very independent and they allow her to be as independent as she'd like, but they also do everything that is needed to assist her. They pay attention to the needs of the residents, but they miss things here and there which is understandable. On a negative note, I have been unimpressed with some of the activities, such as the Thanksgiving dinner, which my mother-in-law said was very lackluster.

I really liked this place. Main drawback is that it is on a VERY busy road. I was told I could bike on that road, but I would NEVER get out on a road where cars are going so fast! I was told maybe I could bike on the 'river walk' but I did not have time to go over there and look. However, I would prefer to live in an area where one can walk safely on fairly quiet city street to reach parks, stores, etc, and also be able to bike on the streets. I wish that building was located somewhere else!

Everything thing here is just A+. The only thing that is a negative from what we have seen is that the food portions are very very small. That is the only complaint our loved ones have made to us. Overall everything else is just going great.
