I can't think of anything to complain about. It's a nice modern building. Moving her in was easy. Great Staff, would recommend.

My loved one was a resident at Viva Senior Living at Easley. The facility was great when she initially moved in because she needed help following a broken bone, but as she became more independent, it became increasingly difficult to justify the cost. She also never liked the food.

The Retreat at Easley is a good place for family members to be, and I would recommend it. I like that they allow the residents to plant their own flowers, etc. I would like to see them improve on medication management.

We've had our challenges getting my loved one settled. Initially we had issues with getting medications administered properly, which is very important. I know they've had staffing issues, as do a lot of companies these days. But we haven't had a warm and fuzzy feeling about the staff and quality of care. Paying this much, I expected better quality and service. The facility itself is very nice and is kept clean, which appealed to us originally. I think the food is good quality, although they could tailor their food choices more to the age group they're serving and offer more variety. And I would just like to see improvement in staffing and care.

When our loved one first moved in all of the staff were great, but after our loved one being there we just felt they did not really care. They were very friendly to begin with but there was a lack of communication and when your loved one is there we feel that families need to hold them accountable. Now this was our families experience, we do encourage families to go check them out and see if they are suitable for their own loved ones. We did like how open, airy and light the community was.

The fix all the same meals for everyone so they could work on having more food options that cater to those who have certain dietary restriction's such as diabetes. Even though our loved one does not always participate in the activities, the activities they do have there are great. They are able to maintain and correctly manage our loved ones medication and provide good quality care so the value is definitely worth it. They have a doctor that comes around once a week to assess the residents and so for that we would most definitely recommend this community to other families'.

August 21, 2022Thank you for the kind review Sandy. We do offer diabetic, no salt added, mechanical soft, and puree diets to residents who are in need of them. We like to make sure to residents do not feel excluded especially at meal time. Our dietitian specifically develops meals just for this purpose, so if we are having an ice cream day, our diabetics can get some as well (even if it is sugar free). Thank you so much for your recommendation and we look forward to continuing to serve you and your family.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My loved one said the food is good, he seems to enjoy it and they give him seconds if he asks for it. They also seem to have a lot of activities with a lot of variety. They have shopping trips, and today they are going to a restaurant. They generally try and do something at least once a week, as far as trips go.

We chose The Retreat at Easley because of the location, it is central to the town of Easley which is where all her family is and the cost was affordable as well. The room sizes at the facility are adequate. The staff were fantastic to us, she was in hospice here and they were extremely accommodating and bent over backwards to help. I would recommend to others looking.

The community gave us a very good story on what we could expect if we moved in. unfortunately, we did not get it when they sold us. Communication is not a priority and we can not get returned calls or basic info about our loved one. The staffing level is not good and they are not receptive to feedback.

The assessment process was not thorough. They did not review all of the information on my loved one to make an appropriate determination of a good fit. And the executive director was not approachable and did not respond to my phone calls or emails.

We are very happy with The Retreat at Easley and she is getting excellent care here. We chose this facility because of the convenient location. The room sizes here are pretty good size for what she needs. The communication from staff is pretty good, they do have their own medical staff here and they do everything which has been very helpful. She is very happy, every time I see her she tells me how happy she is. She has her own social group and they have a beauty parlor, bus service, etc. so they are doing the best they can to keep residents active. I would absolutely recommend them.

If I could give a -10 stars I would! Nasty place in rooms where you will never be allowed to go because "that resident did not give us permission to go into their room". Never enough staff on shifts other than 1st because that is when they can put their best foot forward and lie to you! Looks are very deceiving the main places are beautiful but care is so much more important and it is not there! I have a friend who has a family member there and I heard the horror stories, so I went for a visit to review placing a family member there. Everything was just so impressive so I ask my friend to visit with them and boy did I ever see the other side to that coin! ?? I was appalled and very disgusted with what I saw. While we were there they came in to give medicine and it was all messed up! Medicine that had been stopped was still being administered and the new medicine was "missing" or not on the cart! Never would I put my loved ones here. No one cared period they just walked off and said "Oh well".

I like the care at this community. We have been happy with the care from the staff who are attentive. The community is clean with a good environment for my mom. The menu is appealing. The menu has a lot of healthy variety. They have activities for the residents.I like knowing she is happy with the care. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one.

My parents are doing very well and we really like the community. Th staff all have good characteristics and have gotten to know my parents very well and that is good. The staff call him "Pops" and it's been a cordial friendly interaction. They have morning stretches, music in the afternoon, and movie in the theater room toward the end. Last week my parent and I went to Silver Bay with some other residents. We took the community van which is designed for wheelchairs and walkers, it fits 15 people. It was smooth getting in and out and we enjoyed our dining out. It was so enjoyable my parents will go on another outing. They also celebrate birthday for the residents, my parents enjoyed their birthday with the community.

Magnolias of Easley is by far one of the best communities we've been to. My in laws have been there for a short time now and things are phenomenal. They are definitely in good hands and happy there. The staff have been wonderful and they are not under staffed in any way. The place is as clean as a whistle and we couldn't be happier with them!
