Villages Rehab & Nursing Center

My friend said he didn't have any problems with his stay in The Villages. My friend said the food is okay.

The rehab therapy teams are good. I think the rehabilitation is helping and my father has been making improvements. When he arrived he didn't have any belongings and the social worker arranged to bring him to his house so he could get some of his things, that was really nice. They're all really friendly. I'm a little concerned that while he's there for rehab he's had two incidents and none of the staff seems to have been there or near when it happened. My father doesn't make any complaints about the food, and he's a picky eater, so its got to be good. The staff calls me and keep me informed. The phone at the nurse's station, it can be like trying to pull teeth to get information.

The therapy is really good. The nursing staff is good! They could use more staff, as they always seem rushed.

The occupational and their physical therapists are fabulous! They try to make it interesting and they change the routine around. Most of the nurses are really good. There is one that I'm not too thrilled with. She is on day shift. I don't like having to tell her that she mixed up the meds. The maintenance man who is supposed to clean the therapy facilities is not so good. They have dust under the trashcans that have been there for two weeks. The guy who cleans the room is fabulous. The guy's who make soup and desserts are excellent. They spend a lot of time getting each individual to tell them what they want for each individual meal before each mealtime. It would be quicker to get all the meals once for that day.

My wife seems to think it's very nice there. Their rehab therapy is excellent. My wife has commented that the aides are very superior, just super. The staff are really nice. My wife has commented that the nurses are very superior. Communication from management is not good. I stood around waiting for 20 minutes to talk to someone. The general staff, the aides and nurses, are great for communication.

They have a wonderful rehab staff. They answer the call lights on time. The only problem is that I have requested a shower for her all the time. For some reason, they don't like to give the patients a shower. I just don't see the nurses that much. The only problem I have had, it doesn't seem like they recompiled her meds. But, I mentioned that and they got it to straighten out right away. It's very clean. She loved the food. The social service department has been wonderful. They are really helping me.

They seemed nice and good at their job. I do wish they would make a better effort to get her socialized and not put her back to bed after each meal. They've all been very nice and helpful when I have questions. Everybody is very nice to my mother. There does seem to be a bit of trash that falls on the floor to and from the dining room, that doesn't get picked up too quickly. The meals looked fine to me. I think some were too highly spiced. But there is good variety. I had to initiate asking questions about her care. They did schedule a meeting for me.

My loved one has been happy with her stay.

The therapy is good there. He was there three years ago and it was a wonderful place but it is not the same. They are a bit disorganized with transport. I am satisfied overall.

I think the people there are nice. To me, I think that my loved one is getting good care for her state.

My brother is getting good care from what he tells me.

The therapists are pretty good. The communication could improve.

Physical therapy has been the best. I feel like the nursing staff here is minimal. They are not heavily staffed to provide individual care.

I think the staff is answering my loved one's questions well and encouraging her. You do have to be the patients' advocate here.

If anything happens they give me call.

It is good and my loved one has had excellent food. The room is nice. I have not gotten any calls from them. The receptionist got a note to him when I could not reach him by phone. She was good.

My father has been in and out of hospitals and rehabs for the past two months and has gotten really grumpy because of that. I think they did a really good job with him and the overall experience was good. He liked the food. I think it's a good place, though it's not the newest facility in the area. I've had two stays there myself and would recommend them to a friend. Their therapy teams are really concerned about making sure that he was able to get better and back up on his feet, and that was really great. My father was really happy with the physical therapist there.

There are a couple nurses and aides that are good and do what they can but my wife needs more help than what they can really give her. My big complaints are that when I call them at night I sometimes get hung up on and when I call back no one answers. At night she'll call me because no one is responding to her call light. I've had to run up there two or three times a night to help her some nights. It's also been difficult finding out what's going on.

My overall experience at The Villages Rehabilitation was very good. The nursing care I received was excellent and 90% of the staff was great. The only thing that irritated me was the total lack of communication between departments mostly with the PT. When I arrived I saw that they have a schedule for it by your bed. They never did it though. There was maybe one or two days out of the month I was there that they stuck to the schedule. The staff has great personality, I would joke and laugh with all of them. They always kept my room clean. They would always sneak in my room and tidy up my bed when I was out. I really liked that. There was one incident where there was miscommunication with my transportation to a doctor's appointment. The van service was not scheduled to pick me up when I called ahead and requested service.
