My main contact at The Woodlake was a tremendous help and support even before I was truly interested in this property. When I contacted her a 2nd time to pursue this choice she bent over backwards to assist. My daughter and I moved my sister and her husband into The Woodlake last week. And everyone, staff and residents alike were kind, friendly and interesting. We enjoyed visiting with the residents and had a hard time pulling ourselves away to return to our home. The food is very good. The interior of the building is beautiful and full of sunlight. And there are numerous activities to pique the interest of the residents. But back to the staff. It was clean, secure, & well-run. The thing that attracted us the very most though was...at the time... [name removed] who handled the new and prospective patients/families and [name removed] who was a manager I think or some kind of medical manager. They were awesome

Starts off great, but doesn't last.

Looks great from the sales floor when they are signing you up, but after you are in, things change. Mgmt. sucks! The food is mediocre unless corporate is visiting, and they serve lots of carbs which is not good for diabetics and anyone trying to watch their diets. If we have mom out with us past 6pm, she's locked out and has to stand outside until someone decides they want to answer the bell. That can be 10 minutes or more! The driver for trips is not a good driver, and when mom complains about his unsafe driving they just poopoo her away. In fact, anytime she complains they just treat her like a little kid whose complaints they are tired of. The bus is broke down more often than not, and they do not plan trips for people who have mobility issues. This place does not have a pool, which would make it 60% better! If you are independent, look elsewhere. The majority of the population here are using walkers, canes or wheelchairs. We made a bad decision to move mom here.

Thank you so much for your comments. We take your concerns very seriously. The entire living experience at The Woodlake is a priority for all of us. Your loved one’s opinions are of paramount importance to me, and I’d love to sit and talk with them over a cup of coffee. THE WOODLAKE is a great place for Mom!

I’ve been living at THE WOODLAKE for a little over three years. Time has flown! It took a little adjusting, getting used to not being on my own. I have found that I can spend as much time by myself as I want or I can be as social as I want. Everyone finds the friends they wanna hang out with. It’s like living in a very spacious house that is always clean and smells good! Not having to buy groceries is a plus. And so is having meals that are very good and nutritious that are prepared by someone else! We have a great Activities Director Who keeps us on our toes. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

A Festive Mother's Day Celebration at The Woodlake

The Woodlake celebrated Mother's Day early with a festive brunch on Thursday. A bounteous buffet of entrées and desserts to please everyone’s taste, served in a dining room especially decorated for the day. Great food, Good neighborly conversations. A lovely and thoughtful prelude to Mother’s Day. Chef [name removed] and the staff outdid themselves. It was indeed a most enjoyable event.

A Great Place To Be

As an employee of The Woodlake, I enjoy coming to work everyday. Although the building is beautiful, what makes it special are the people. To see so many happy residants is amazing. As i write this their is a Mothers Day brunch happening. To hear the joy and laughter from my office inspires me. I am grateful to be a part of this stage of life and helping people live their best life now.

Transitioning a loved one into a different environment can be difficult on you and the loved one.

It can be very difficult to transition from living at home to assisted living. The Staff at The Woodlake were extremely helpful and understanding. They helped make our Dad's move from independent living to assisted care. The Woodlake has a family-oriented atmosphere with a real sense of community. My father was very excited about moving in after we first toured the property. He couldn't wait to meet new friends and engage in activities! It was a great experience from start to finish. We would definitely refer friends and family to this new home! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We feel very comfortable leaving our Dad in their care. :)

Fantastic!

I moved my mother in about a month ago, and although the building and staff were very nice, I was still skeptical after terrible experiences with my dad at another community. I'm so pleased to say that she loves her new home! She is participating in activities that I never thought she would go near. Thank you, [name removed]. [names removed] moved us in and were a wonderful help. Thank you, [name removed], for your patience and kindness. The Woodlake is truly a great place to live.

Caring staff

The facility is very clean and well maintained. They have 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. Plenty of activities like Bingo, word finding games etc. They even went on the facility's bus to the pumpkin patch and to see Christmas lights. All the residents are clean and well groomed. They even take the time to put my LO in matching clothes instead of just any old thing in the closet.

Horribly disappointed

We loved this place at first. It’s expensive but the care, staff, and services were great. We are moving our loved one from this facility. We went this week to start to prepare for the move. WHAT THE HELL!? There was moldy food, I cleaned toilets, dirty carpets, and so many other disgusting things. This is disgusting and not appropriate. I would not send my loved one here. I wish I could post pictures

Exceptional Care & Staff

When placing a loved one in a memory care center emotions are high. We all want the best for someone that is an important part of our lives. We found The Woodlake to be the right fit. Our mother was experinceing the effects of dementia. She was still somewhat independent and appreciated the enviroment the facility and staff provided. She was happy there and we felt that she was in a safe and caring enviroment. She lived there for one year before passing suddenly. Her last year was surpsingly happy and productive. When we notified that staff of her passing they cried. [name removed] immediately asked if there was anything they could do to help. [name removed] arranged a comfortable and accessible room for the memorial service. [name removed] distributed flyers to residents and was a source of tremendous support for us. We highly recommend The Woodlake for any family looking for a safe & caring environment for a loved one.

Encouraging Staff

He is doing very well here. All the residents are clean and dressed. When I was touring facilities, there was one where multiple people were in pajamas in the mid afternoon. The staff greets me by name and everyone knows my husband so I feel like they see him as a person not just a nameless resident. This is especially important to me because he is non-verbal so I feel like they make the effort to engage him. The room is as spacious as he needs, nice big bathroom. They lock it during the day, probably to keep his stuff safe. Other residents have access to their rooms, but I think staff tries to keep my husband engaged in whatever activity is happening rather than isolating in his room. They took a scenic drive this morning and said he enjoyed getting out. It's a beautiful day here today.

Review for The Woodlake

They are great at being "a family" and keeping everyone involved and special events. I know that my loved one is always safe and taken care of. I have no complaints about what they are doing, don't really see where they need major improvements. Every time I have visited my loved one, has always been clean, clean clothes, happy, their room is clean, and they are well fed, etc. There has not once been a "red flag". I have peace of mind knowing my loved one is being taken care of. The staff is always wonderful and friendly and the facility is very clean, neat, and orderly.

We had a fine tour at The Woodlake. Initially we thought they were a 5/5. After seeing another place, we thought they were still very good but more like 4.5/5. The memory care unit of the place we chose was just a little nicer and had more outdoor space.

The establishment is super comfortable and welcoming. They are pretty responsive when a family member needs a meeting to go over any concerns. The staff all know my loved one by first name. They take time to get to know the family as well as the resident. It is never an easy choice to place your loved one but this place has done a 180 degree turn with my loved one. She has a great support system here and she is thriving.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
