I would say that Atria (at least the individual facility that my sister is in) is probably the nicest place I saw when looking for a place, and the time she has been there has only increased my positive opinion of the facility. Overall the community is good. I moved my mom there as it is close to my house and in her old neighborhood. I also had several acquaintances who have lived there and heard mostly good things about Atria.

The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful! Move in was easy and housekeeping is VERY good. My mother is a picky eater but seems to be very happy with meals and is even putting on some much needed weight. She is also quite shy but seems to be making some good friends there already! Communication with staff has been good throughout the process and we are very pleased with our decision to move mom into Atria at El Camino Gardens. I would definitely recommend this facility to others...my mother is so happy there!

[name removed] (the memory care director) is so wonderful. She goes above the call of duty, is direct but gentle. She's genuine. (Some of the places we toured were sugary fake sweet. Nobody at Atria gave us that impression. We were comforted by the fact that many staff members (including Ingrid,) have been there for many years/decades. They seem to love what they're doing. They have been wonderful and Mom is very happy with everything. Her only complaint is that she can't come home but that's not their fault. But it's getting better.

We picked this community because of the cost, security, good food options, they allowed pets. When we visited twice, lots of residents were out socializing, and nobody was eating alone, so I was hopeful she would make friends.

Response from Atria El Camino Gardens
July 11, 2023We are thrilled to have you as part of the Atria family! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. It means the world to us and to our team!
It has been a good experience , particularly the first year. However the monthly rent then jumped [fee removed] a month. She enjoys it and everyone loves her. I'm sure everyone is facing rising costs but seniors can't keep up. She enjoys the musical entertainment and the staff is very friendly. It's best we saw and was the most affordable

We have been extremely impressed with the level of care Mom has received. Not only have the staff taken care of basic needs but they go above and beyond with interest, compassion, helpfulness all with a positive attitude. For special family occasions the staff always has mom dressed well and she is prepared when we arrive. The staff interact with Mom while we are there and this gives us a sense of comfort. Mom seems very content and this reassures us that she is in the right place.

The care provided in Life Guidance is absolutely wonderful! The staff are very capable and caring. They keep the residents happy and engaged. You are welcome to visit anytime. The garden area is lovely and we have spent many pleasant afternoons having lunch there. Moving your loved one to memory care (Life Guidance) can be a hard decision. Our Mom is quite content living at Atria El Camino Gardens. Know that your loved one is in good hands there.

This review is for the Atria El Camino on Garfield. It was such a difficult decision to move my Mother from her home and frankly my siblings and I didn’t agree or know what was best but she was alone and declining rapidly. But after spending the holidays with Mom at this beautiful community we are all so thankful for the staff, her friends, the care, food, and lovely environment. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I cannot be more pleased with Atria El Camino Gardens. The staff is caring, and patient. The food is really good, with so many choices. I've eaten in the dining room, with my parents (residents), several times, so personal experience! There are so many activities, and so many forms of entertainment. The staff welcomes family and friends from the "outside" with a smile. My mother is in assisted living, my father is in memory care (Life Guidance). Both are thriving and happy. My parents moved in THE DAY the world shut down from COVID. I truly believe they would not be here without the wonderful staff and the precautions everyone took to keep the residents safe. I recommend Atria El Camino Gardens to any of my friends who are searching for a good, safe place for their family members. I would choose this place again.

We had to move my mom in when the facility she was at was unable to accommodate her rising memory care needs. She needed a good amount of attention and it seemed to be getting worse by the day. It was a stressful time and I cannot say enough good things about the Atria staff, not only those that assisted myself and my mom in getting onboarded into a room, but also those that continue to care for her day after day. I have had universally positive experiences with Life Guidance Director [name removed] and her team. They are compassionate and direct with both their residents and their residents' family. I have had numerous experiences with them going above and beyond to not only accommodate my mom's needs, but also observing and sharing useful information about everything from medical to clothing needs. It is always difficult having a loved one begin to suffer cognitive issues, but the team at Life Guidance make sure that my mother has both a good quality of life and a voice to communicate.

We chose Atria El Camino Gardens because the facility is beautiful. There are lots of places for residents to walk around and go sit outdoors. They have a nice activities room and library. They have nice dining room and a grill as well where you can get some food afterhours. The layout is very nice, we liked that it is all on one level and there are lots of things to do. I would recommend them to others looking and already have.
