The Weils offers uniquely comprehensive senior care in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Chagrin Falls is one of the best places to live in Ohio, and The Weils is just outside the town on 42 private acres of green space. It’s a large campus with enough facilities and amenities to attract anyone. The Weils mainly offers assisted living, but because it’s affiliated with the Menorah heath system, residents also have access to professional memory care, rehabilitation, and hospice. Staff members do their best to let each resident be as independent as possible while helping them maintain a high quality of life. This can be as simple as providing housekeeping services, but whatever is needed, the staff is there to help.
While the apartments are excellent (outfitted with modern amenities, large windows, and cheerful decor), most residents find that they don’t spend a lot of time in their rooms. This is because The Weils offers some of the best senior living activities and amenities in the nation. On campus, residents have access to all of the 42 green and landscaped acres. The campus is also across from the Acacia Reservation, which has even more walking trails and natural areas. On...

The Weils Rehab is a very pretty place, has good food and is located in a peaceful environment. However if your loved on need medical care, wound care or 24/7 nurse care, find another facility. There is not enough nurse staff or aids to give just basic care let alone rehab or healing. The social workers is only worried about filling the beds and will accept anyone regardless of their needed care. The nurses are very caring but spread so thin that they only have time to give out meds and take vitals. They will tell you that they do not have time for adequate patient care. The are very few aids and most just do not care. If you want pretty stay, but if you need good basic care, find another facility.

I was a patient in the rehab wing last month. The care was abysmal and I had my call go unanswered for over 2 hours the first night I was there. I was put in diapers not because I was incontinent but because I was unable to to walk to the bathroom. It was humiliating. Aids told me just to go to the bathroom even though my walker was inaccessible and put on the other side of the room. Both physical therapy and the administrator said that the aids never should have said that. I threatened to call the state to get them out to audit the payroll records because they were far below state-mandated staffing levels. I then got better care, but everyone there was entitled to the care that they were paying for. After 5 days of minimal physical therapy, I got a total of 2 hours but was supposed to get 2 hours a day. I went home and had home health care nurses and therapists come to the house. It was an awful experience at the Weils and I don't recommend it to anyone.

My mom is there for a broken arm rehab. I was worried she would be combative like she usually is in a hospital setting. I visited today, her first full day there, and she was trolling the hallways in a wheel chair using her feet! She was like a kid at a theme park. The food is 5 Star. The staff are sweet and gentle. Wish I could afford to keep her there.

A Place for Mom has scored The Weils 5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
