Lantern of Chagrin Valley

After having a fall, my mother needed a place to live; we had little time to put things together, and we were very overwhelmed. We were both overjoyed to have discovered Lantern. They did everything they could to make the transition smooth and stress-free. To make it as enjoyable as they can. The staff is helpful and sincere... EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED

There for a week, my 91-year-old father received unfailingly top-notch care. clean and pristine. They are all just the sweetest folks. What a great find for us! Continue your wonderful effort! I would highly recommend it!

Lantern was ready to welcome my mother when she required assisted living care. The caregivers, nurses, activities workers, and receptionists were all fantastic. They were always cheerful and helpful. The meal was delicious! There were activities and stuff to keep her entertained.

Fantastic employees who go above and beyond! They take such wonderful care of our mother and pay close attention to her requirements. It's critical that she get individualized care and attention. Knowing she is secure and receiving excellent care has been a tremendous comfort for us.

The staff is excellent. When it comes to making my mum happy, nothing is off-limits. The staff collaborates with the family. The caretakers, food workers, laundry women, front receptionists, maintenance, and activities coordinator are all excellent.

While my mother was there, the staff provided excellent care. Everyone is really nice. It's really clean, the meals are good, and the activities are fantastic, with outings, music, and arts and crafts to keep her occupied! The employees actually care about the residents.

My Grandmother has been living here for two years, and I've never felt more relieved. The staff is wonderful and caring, and the administrators are always concerned about her well-being. Thank you for all of your hard work, Lantern!

My father is a resident at the lantern, which is a lovely facility with wonderful staff who genuinely care about the residents and their families. Throughout this time, my father has remained healthy. The staff is in constant contact with us about Dad. If you really are interested in assisted living, please come see this beautiful facility for yourself.

My mother has been at Lantern for about 6 weeks now. We received day-by-day update calls for 2-three weeks from [name removed]. The information of the team of workers and nursing personnel reassures us that she’s in first-rate hands. We are pleased with our preference at Lantern!

My father spent five years at Lantern. Lantern did an excellent job of providing activities, entertainment, and meals while adhering to strict guidelines during this time. This allowed the residents to unwind and make the environment less stressful.

My father had a great time at The Lantern, and we were very pleased with his experience. They were respectful of him and assisted our family in making the best decisions for his care. The facility was lovely, and I enjoyed the holiday events that they planned.

My mom moved to Lantern in January of 2020. She has been well cared for and if I or my siblings had an issue or concern they answered us quickly and addressed any issue. it has been difficult through covid-19 and lockdown in NJ and at Lantern, but mom was always taken care of and that we were always ready to call and FaceTime. Tell me about management turnover. Step mother moved in in late June of 2017. Since then the entire staff has turned over something like four times. And I'm not just talking about aides. I think we may be on our 4th, 5th or 6th director of nursing. It makes it very difficult to get consistent care. You end up asking new and newer and newer people to check if the room is at a reasonable temperature, clothing is being changed and washed, is she getting out of her room, the basics. A very new, nice facility, bright, clean with well intentioned staff, however it is a revolving door for whatever reason and we have asked and asked. Expect alot of frustration.

The Lantern is very innovative and impressive. [name removed] was very nice and explained everything. The $3900 is the base price for assisted living but if dementia care is needed then there are added costs depending on stage and level of dementia and perhaps people should be aware of this up front. Also, I was surprised that at the Lantern you have to provide all your own furniture, even the bed. But then again, maybe some people would actually prefer that. Overall, though, it is a beautiful place.

We are very impressed with this facility our Mother has improved since the move to The Lantern. We really like their method toward memory care and the facility look/feel. Can't say enough good things about this location and the staff.

I toured here when looking for a place for my mother. It was very nice but it was too far away. The building is gorgeous like a Las Vegas hotel. The rooms were outstanding and everything is brand spankin’ new. But as I was thinking about it later, I realized that it might be a little too garish. I didn’t think my mom would like that. The cleanliness was fantastic, though. The activities are kind of the same here as anywhere else: music, art, game playing, things like that. It was just a nicer facility. The person that took me on a tour was able to answer all of my questions and they were as nice as possible.

Lantern of Charing Valley is kind of an unfair comparison. When we toured, they had barely opened and they were not completely filled or fully staffed yet. It was a good concept and seemed like it would be a good place, but it was not what we were looking for at the time.
