I have lived here now for about 3 years and have enjoyed the socialization and friendships I have made. I love my apartment and the beauty of our building. I like having a beauty salon on the premise.

The Waters is a lovely place that my mom recently moved into. We looked at multiple locations in the Twin Cities but The Waters met her needs the best. She likes independence but still some assistance. The meal staff and dining room staff is incredible with great home cooking and excellent service, the facility is beautiful quiet and allows her to spend her days as she wishes. The care staff is very communicative and willing to help. There is also a concierge on duty every day to help with residents needs. The apartments are spacious with in-home laundry and options for additional services. We are very confident with the decision on mom moving to The Waters.

Overall we have been happy with The Waters community, our loved one is receiving good services and we certainly like the safety it provides. They do a very good job keeping the community clean and the activities are good. Our loved one is not to excited about the meals but they do have a different menu they are allowed to order off of for something different. They have changed the therapy services a couple of times since our loved ones has been there which has caused some disruptions and frustration.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was beautiful, however we just did not think in the long run this was going to be the right place for our loved one
If you are a senior who is very independent and needs absolutely no services you may do okay here. If you are requiring any type of assistance this is not the place for you and I would avoid it. There are a few staff who are incredible but the other staff feel very superficial and like they are there to do a job and they are not very invested in the well being of the residents. It just did not seem like a very tight nit community.

I really wanted to like this place. It is beautiful. I had hoped it would be a good fit for my dad with dementia. The nursing staff are overworked and communication is poor. The poor communication and lack of follow through lead to a number of incidents, including a potentially lethal medication error- I had to report the facility to the state. Read the lease closely! The Waters is outrageously priced and provides lower quality care compared to other assisted living facilities. We were required to pay for 6 weeks of rent after my dad moved out due to needing a higher level of care (memory care) with specific requirements (keeping his emotional support dog) that The Waters couldn’t provide. I spent thousands on rent after he moved out for care he did not receive. I didn’t realize how bad the Waters was until I toured many other facilities and ultimately moved my dad. I’m so glad I moved him and so frustrated by the financial burden The Waters has imposed on our family.

We had a limited amount of time to find a facility, The Waters met with us quickly and worked with us with what we needed. The facility itself is beautiful and the people that I have met have been extremely friendly. Overall it has been a very good experience and I would recommend them to others looking.

We chose The Waters of Highland Park because of the location, she is from the area so she was familiar with it. Also the size and type of apartments are very nice. the facility offers a lot of activities for residents to participate in. I would absolutely recommend them.

The facility is nice, and there are staff present most of the time to administer medications. My father was on the "memory care" floor for two years. The staff has high turnover and little training. No dementia specific training. "Memory care" in quotations because they will tell you they are actually "specialty care." Would feel comfortable with sending family here for short term recovery after an injury perhaps, but wouldn't recommend for dementia care due to lack of training and attention to detail. Towards the end my father would get confused and agitated (predictable outcome of dementia) and staff had no plan or training to deal with it. Police were called and my dad was so frightening that he was going to be in trouble or hurt by them. The eventually refused to have him any further, but also refused to reimburse the money we'd already paid for an upcoming month of services.

It is a nice community. There is a high turnover of staff, and they don't follow the instructions. The billing has been inaccurate, and has been frustrating. It is the small things that have added up for us.

I think The Waters of Highland Park is adequate for that kind of care it offers. The room sizes and layout of the community are appropriate. I have had a positive experience at The Waters of Highland Park.

My mother and an aunt have been at the Waters of Highland Park since 2016. They both are receiving excellent care and love the staff. My wife and I visit often and have found everything to be exceedingly well run. When I need to communicate with the staff via email or over the phone every question is answered promptly. We feel fortunate to have chosen them.

The downstairs is absolutely beautiful but once you get on the memory care unit it becomes a fightful nightmare! My loved one was totally neglected we were lied to as a family about cares been given, Dr apt, staff turn around was fast & those who stuck around mostly did the bare minimum. And the simplest request went on answered. I would never advise anyone to move in to their memory care unit.

Staff is not well trained in dealing with an aging population. They complain to the family if the resident shows any signs of dementia the fail to do any follow up. Also very poor follow up for repairs. Took months to get some simple things repaired in the unit. Weekly cleaning services were usually skipped. The units have large kitchens which is a waste of space given the meal service provided. Some units have balconies but the hvac system is so loud you can't enjoy sitting out there. The one place they excel is with there meals which are very good.

The community is very nice and we like the staff that is always willing to help and makes improvements when needed. The community is clean and the menu is really good with a lot of healthy choices. I like that she is active with the other residents. I would recommend this community for good care and value for other families.
