I love my apartment and I love the location. Never saw myself as a city dweller but I really appreciate it. The diversity in the people here is a first for me. It’s great. The neighborhood has such architectural diversity it’s fun to move around. Everything from modest income to the multi-million dollar mansions the length of Summit Avenue. I live within a mile of the St. Paul cathedral, an architectural highlight for me. Sibley Ave. is known as “eat street” in some circles. It was several diverse, high quality eateries. The construction and choices of services are disappointing. The phone is so complicated the person sent to my apartment to show me didn’t understand it. The thermostat is so complicated the person sent to instruct me showed me how to move it from heat to cool and how to raise and lower the temp. Ignore all the other features was the advice. The direct TV options are just as confusing. ESPN is not included on the viewing list provided. The AC Unit failed and I’m told l... Read more

My loved one was previously a resident at Seven Hills Senior Living and most everything was very good for her at this facility. Regarding the food, they deliver all of the room delivery meals/food in Styrofoam. It looks so unappealing! And the portions look small! However, I loved the muffins and coffee that were in the common area of the lounge.

The staff are very welcoming, helpful, patient and kind. The activities director is lots of fun, she creates a happy atmosphere. The maintenance contractor is very knowledgeable and quick to help out with anything needed. The office and concierge staff are always available to answer questions and offer solutions. I am impressed with the professionalism of the restaurant staff, they work fast and are always smiling and helpful. The facility decor is just as warm and inviting as the staff! We couldn't have picked a better location, such a nice walkable neighborhood, a bus stop right outside the door, shops and restaurants within walking distance.

My family toured several facilities and recommended Seven Hills to me, I would make the same recommendation to others. Much freedom for independent residents, quick response to questions and requests, warm actions to issues asked for or observed.

Overall, Seven Hills Senior Living is very nice. Unfortunately, this home is part of a large group of Assisted Living homes. The staff that I interviewed and visited with while my loved one was in the hospital was totally different a week later when my loved one moved in. They rotate their staff too much. They didn't do my loved one's Assisted Living evaluation for weeks on end. So her contract was not finalized for over a month, I believe. I would address the staff rotation. They were all very nice, but a new nurse started the day my loved one arrived. It was a few weeks before she stopped by. My loved one ended up in the hospital after I left St Paul. It wasn't until hospice got involved that they responded to her needs when she was released. They hired a new chef when my loved one first arrived. I'm not sure how the meals are now. But, I don't like the fact that if you have room service (my loved one is on liquid O2 so she needs assistance if she goes to the dining room) the food comes in takeout Styrofoam. Not on covered trays like at a hospital. It's a nice facility, especially if you don't need immediate assistance set up right away! Negative- There is no outdoor seating area that I know of. I would recommend this facility to others with reservations. The facility was fairly new, so that was a plus!

Seven Hills was beautiful, but lack of outdoor patio/deck space made it a "no".
There are things I really like here and one is they have a medical team location within the community. This has allowed them to handle appointments and medication on site for my loved one. There are times you have to address your concerns with management and our responsive. There has been some turnover in staff. The activities just started up again with a new activities director.

The community is very clean, the vast majority of the staff and aids are very friendly and helpful. It is well located for us, it is in a great spot. The apartments are very nice, modern, well constructed and very comfortable. The maintenance team is very responsive when a residents needs assistance. However the leadership has been very inconsistent - upper management has had quite a few turnovers so its really hard to know who to turn to when we have questions or concerns and it is becoming frustrating.

It's very new and very modern. The staff is experiencing some turnover, and right now we don't have a director. But the front office staff is very good. And the activities director is amazing. The chefs in the kitchen are very good as well. The people who live here are very intelligent people, so you can have conversations that are meaningful. They're all very friendly. We're also in a good location if you like living in the city.

On our initial tour the staff members were very friendly, and the cleanliness of the community is a 5 star, but our loved ones individual room would get a 3 star. It is a newer community so it is very inviting, but w are having some issues. A lot of it has to do with staffing issues which we know all communities are struggling with. sometimes it takes them longer then usually to get to our loved one when they press the help button. There aren't as many activities going on as we would like, so right now it is just not really meeting expectations.

Our tour with Seven Hills Senior Living went very well
We had to find a short term respite facility fir our mom after hip surgery. In touring the facility, it was clean and staff very welcoming. Upon choosing to put mom here we received a care plan, menu for daily meals and a necklace that would call a staff member if mom needed assistance. Needless to say we removed mom after 2 weeks. Short staffed and care plan not followed. We even had a medication scare. Don’t let the newness of facility pull you in. Very dissatisfied.

They have been doing a really good job given everything that has been going on. We like that it is a smaller community so it has more of that one on one times between the staff and residents.

My sister went to Seven Hills Senior Living in an assisted living capacity while in hospice. As she gradually needed more care, they worked well with the hospice team to provide what she needed. Immediate family were also given access to spend time with her as her health declined. Everyone with whom I came in contact were professional, caring, warm people. It felt like I had found the best place for her to be for her final weeks and days.

A Place for Mom has scored Seven Hills Senior Living 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
