My grandfather was recently there for subacute rehab and ended staying there for long term care. The staff t5reated him with dignity and respect. They took excellent care of him. I would definitely recommend this facility!

This place should be shut down! The professional staff never greeted me or my loved one at check in. There was not 1 person to walk us through the our enrollment, how the facility was run, when therapy would take place or even to go over my mother's medication that the hospital sent over 3 hours before. It wasn't as if they knew we weren't coming. The nursing staff was not very professional and the aides looked like they came straight from the county jail. I do not know how they received a 5 star rating on Medicare.gov, but they need surprise inspections. The room was very tight, dark and the bathroom was no larger than an airplane 's. The bedding had holes and some of the residents bedrooms smelled horrible. The hallway was littered with food racks and laundry carts along with the hanging electrical cords over top the 8 ft ladder left out in the open. The nurse finally came to introduce himself after 25 minutes of waiting, nice guy, but late. After getting my loved one in bed and settled, around 7:30 pm, I spoke with the nurse in length like the majority of the staff, seemed preoccupied with a cigarette break - again, because the smell was just clinging to him. The very next morning, I had my loved one discharged.

In 2011, my then 51-year old son had sepsis of the blood through his entire body except his heart. When it entered his spine, he was in a coma and unable to walk. Doctors at Kennedy gave him a 10% survival rate, but my son, exceeded the odds. He was discharged from the hospital to The Voorhees Care and Rehabilitation Center. During his approximately six month stay, even through he was once thought not to live long, let alone ever walk again, their amazing physical therapy team got him out of bed and slowly up and moving with the assistance of a walker. It was a combination of lots of prayer with my church group, never-ending determinism and I cannot say enough of how well the therapists of The Voorhees Care and Rehabilitation Center helped! After leaving this center he moved to Florida, lives without any assisted devices for mobility and even rides a regular bike! It doesn’t get much better than this and if I ever need help, this is where I want to be at The Voorhees Care and Rehabilitation Center! You are truly part of the miracle! The lesson [removed] Never give up hope!
