The Oaks used to be a great place. But now, many years later, it still has the original furniture in patient rooms, what looks like the original paint job and the floor in the laundry room hasn't been stripped clean in what looks like years. The room my loved one is in is carpeted. It is blackened in some areas and in all the times I have been there it has never been recently vacuumed. Given the usual excuse of staff shortage, why does the person at the nursing station sit and shop Amazon or listen to music on her phone during the busiest times. I have met a number of kind, industrious folks, particularly in the kitchen. But corporate needs to raise salaries to a level that will ensure adequate staff, and it is past time to paint, replace bashed up patient furniture and contract a cleaning service At least find somewhere clean for your loved one. No place has adequate staff to render good care, but clean is doable.

They are very understaffed and need a lot of help. Sometimes on the weekend they only have two people working on a shift. My loved one has some higher care needs than the other residents, and they can't handle her at times. She always complains about the food. The staff are very nice people though. And the cost is on par with other places.

I would recommend this community to others. If there is no follow up by phone Dustin takes care of the issues and then will sometimes follow ups via email.

We chose The Oaks of Alamance because it looked like a nice facility, also it was close to my house and I was accessible and didn't have to run all over town to go see her on a daily basis. The room she had, if she had a roommate it would have been too small, but it was private so it was big enough for her. I was there for some of her meals, and it looked really good. I would recommend this community.

If I could give negative stars I would. After a long bout with bedbugs and no one doing anything about it, it finally got resolved. Now today, my grandfather was given either someone else's medication or his own medication PLUS another residents. As a result, my grandfather has been in the emergency room all day with no explanation of what he was given because the med tech "doesnt know" what she gave him. This man and all the residents deserve to be treated so much better than what [name removed] (the facility manager) treats them like. This place needs to be shut down and each and every employee FIRED and stripped of any medical license.

Despite having an appt. it seemed that no one knew we were coming and they couldn’t find the director so the girl that works at the desk tried to best to answer questions as best as possible. Didn’t like that they have zero nurses on staff- only med techs.

Poor administrative leadership. Significant staff turnover with gaps in the level of care. Highly processed foods. Dirty carpet.

Everyone at the Oaks was very friendly, and welcoming. My grandmother feels right at home there. It make the transition so much easier.

In my opinion, the administrator and supervisors functioned unprofessionally. The staff turnover rate was substantially high. Doctors' orders were not followed. Although the price was fair, a big price was paid for the lack of quality care.

Very good, clean facility and location in Burlington. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms somewhat small, but great outside areas for sitting. All inclusive rate is a big plus.

When I walked into Oaks it was really nice and my mom, sister and I toured it and looked at everything. As a matter of fact, I work right next to the Oaks, but when I walked in there, and it was really early on, we looked and talked to some of the people and they just didn't seem very happy.

A Place for Mom has scored The Oaks of Alamance 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
