Home Place of Burlington

We chose Home Place of Burlington because of the informative tour as well as the fact that my mother knew several residents there. These residents provided a great recommendation. I really like Eventus, the medical staff. They are very informative.

I would not recommend Home Place.

I have spent most of my life volunteering with seniors at various nursing homes in the area. The first time I walked through the doors I knew there was something different about Homeplace. The care that has been taken with The furnishings and décor were the first sign of how much the staff cares about making their residents comfortable and welcomed. The next thing I noticed were the smiling faces of the staff, from the front deskAll the way through the administrative staff and dining hall! I was planning to visit a dozen or more assisted living sites in the area to help my neighbor find a new home and I knew that I needn't look no further. I really can't say enough about the warm welcome from the staff and also the residents living there, they were sitting in rocking chairs out front, talking together in the living room and not hunkered down in their own individual spaces.

My relative has been at Homeplace for a little over a year. She is happy and content. Any issues are address quickly and professionally. We are so grateful to find a nice, clean facility with friendly caring staff.

Home Place of Burlington assessed Dad correctly with his level of care and placed him in assisted living with only HIM in mind. Home Place provides great meals according to each diet, schedules full of activities and outings, events and performers, and care of residents making sure all needs are met. It is a transition for everyone involved, however, the management team and medical staff have an open door and I feel very comfortable speaking with them about any issue at any time. Dad has a better quality of life thanks to his new friends at Home Place and his independence. His family and friends are welcome to join in any event or outing also. It's a very special place.

Absolutely the best! You will not find a more caring, compassionate, professional and dependable group of people than the staff at Homeplace of Burlington. It is a very clean and well maintained facility. I highly recommend for the care of your love one.

The staff at Homeplace was exceptional when it came to assisting me with questions, concerns, and any other issues I needed help with during the care of my sister. The staff was extremely good to her. They were quick to respond when she required help. The caregivers and nurses were very gentle and very kind. Knowing that my loved one was in such good hands made a very difficult time for my family much easier to deal with. I highly recommend Homeplace if you are looking for a safe and caring place for your loved one.

My mom was briefly a resident at Home Place of Burlington and overall our experience with this facility was poor. They were trying to put her in the hospital for 3 days for a psych evaluation against my wishes. We pulled her out and brought her home. They wanted me to hire a 24-hour caretaker. So on top of paying them [amount removed] a month, they wanted us to pay a bunch more money for someone to take care of her. What's the [amount removed] for? Food and a room?

My dad(dementia) has been there 1 year and 8 months There is a fair amount of staff turnover, however, there are also several staff who have been there years and lend stability. It is not perfect, but he is well cared and seems to be the best place for his situation. They are all expensive!

I moved my parents here in December. Mom to the Homeplace and my dad in my house. Long story short if your family member is in assisted-living it’s going to be a pretty good life. If they’re in the memory care center expect that they want your parent submissive and quiet. They prefer their memory care residence to sit around a small table in wheelchairs. The quieter the better. People with dementia are not always that. They will use drugs to make that happen. After it was threatened that my mom would be locked up in a hospital for a psych evaluation for 72 hours, I brought her home. Yes she still has dementia. That’s not going to change. What has changed is that I’m not paying over $8,000 a month for very little care. Witnessed after I put a camera in her room that she was often left crying in her room during the day. No bed checks at night. Not two hours or anything else. Not a place for Mom. They don’t know how to care for someone with dementia.

We are still trying to work out the kinks, but all in all I think it is a great place. I do appreciate the contact that I get from all of the staff, I feel like we are really working as a team. There is a lot of effort made to figure out the best plan for mom. They need more activities provided, that would be the main complaint. I see that my loved one is in her room a lot and seems to be bored. I would recommend Home Place of Burlington to others.

They do need more daily cleaning in the residents rooms. The residents have a pendant they have that they wear around their neck but they wear it for routine things as well, so if you push the button they don't always come as quickly as needed since it is not held to a standard of emergency.

The staff really genuinely care for the residents, but as far as the memory care, my dad has had a very hard time adjusting. I think the staff could use some training on how to approach residents with dementia and that may have helped him be more comfortable during his transition. There are only 18 people in the memory care unit which is a big positive for him.

The director is amazing and goes out of her way to make things perfect. The community is neat and clean and the staff is very friendly. They have activities for the residents to participate in and I would recommend this community to others.

My grandmother lived at homeplace for several years and it truly lived up to its name: it became her home. The staff took excellent care of her; they loved her and became a part of her family. It is hard moving a loved one from their home, but homeplace made the transition so much easier for her (and us). The place was neat, clean, and always smelled nice-no "odor" like we found at some facilities. The food was delicious-we ate there with her many times! Homeplace always had activities going on and she loved that. She looked forward to telling us what she had done that day. I would highly recommend it for your loved one-it will become his/her home too!
