Facility is great. They have options for lower budget that are nice. But the one my mom is on is absolutely beautiful. There was one lady I wasn't impressed with but she is gone now. That's why I rated the friendliness as a 4. I liked everyone except that 1 person. They have a lot of activities but my mom has not participated in many so I can't really provide comments on those. If I lived there I would definitely be interested in trying them.... Read more

September 27, 2021Thank you for your review. We appreciate the feed back and we are very happy to hear you are loving your new home. The Manor is blessed with many wonderful residents and dedicated staff. We wish you a lifetime of happiness in your new home.
We just moved the end of July and have found all the staff to be very friendly and very helpful. It’s been nice to be able to walk outdoors into the courtyard. We feel it is a safe environment.

Response from The Manor
September 27, 2021Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear you love your new home and feel safe here. Our staff strived to provide excellent customer service everyday. It's wonderful to hear you are also enjoying the courtyard.
They have absolutely nothing here. There are people moving out and they feel like they are in a prison. There are no activities. When we moved in there were activities and all our friends that we were at activities, have since moved out due to the community being too expensive. There will be 8 more people moving out of my building alone. There is no pool and dirty carpet. If I could get out of my lease I would be gone tomorrow. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The manager will tell you something and not do it. They told us they would put a pool in and that never happened. Some of the issues is because of the virus, but the exercise room is closed. The only thing you can do is sit and watch TV.

Response from The Manor
August 27, 2020Thank you for taking the time to review our property. During this time of COVID, we understand the difficulties that certain regulations have caused on your daily life and we are very sympathetic to all of our residents and their families. We are doing our best to accommodate everyone’s needs while also providing a safe and healthy community. We are following the guidelines from the local and federal government, the CDC and our corporate office to ensure the safety of our residents and the staff. We are happy to say that we have remained 100% COVID free due to the diligence of the staff and the residents. Family and friends are allowed to visit the property as long as everyone remains outside and all safety guidelines are followed. Residents may also leave the property and return at will. We never want anyone to feel isolated and encourage people to be out and about while also practicing safety. While we have had to change how we do some of our activities to observe social distancing and safety protocols, we are happy to say that most of the activities have resumed and are very well attended. At this time, the fitness room is currently closed, as are many of the gyms and athletic facilities around the State. However, we do offer, free of charge, exercise classes 5 times a week for anyone to participate in as well as numerous other group activities. We have a 100% open door policy when it comes to resident questions and concerns, and work hard to make sure everyone is heard and a resolution is accomplished for all. We have a coffee and donut chat every Friday for anyone to come and discuss policies or concerns and ask questions. We encourage everyone to participate in the daily activities offered at the property and we have received very positive feedback from many of the residents and family members. Again, I thank you for taking the time to review The Dorchester and The Manor.
They were good about cleaning the community. The staff as a whole are very friendly and efficient. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the activities were good. We played cards every day and they shut down the cards room. One thing I would sat they did well is that they did well to protect us from contamination. We think it is much too expensive given the lack of amenities.

Response from The Manor
August 27, 2020Thank you for the review. We know it has been difficult for many of our residents during the time of COVID. We appreciate everyone being extremely supportive of the changes. We are happy to say our activities are back and our residents could not be happier! The staff works very hard to make sure all of our residents needs are taken care of daily and we will continue to provide excellent customer service for all residents and their families.
I personally had toured this community even though my mother in law had already made her mind up as to where she wanted to go I felt that it might be helpful to have another community in mind in the case where she chose did not work out. I overall liked The Manor it appeared to be very similar to the community where my mother in law had already chosen. The staff was friendly and was more hands on for the residents on the assisted living side. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions on the tour.

We toured this community when looking for my parents. The staff was friendly but they didn't offer the care that they needed. There was no shuttle service and it was a better fit for an independent senior. We gave them the details of what we needed and it seemed that the person we dealt with didn't listen to those concerns.

The Manor offers many activities within the community. The residents have the option to sign up for outings. They offer a great variety of food options and the food is good. The staff were very knowledgeable and attentive during the tour. The community is very welcoming and clean.

I really liked this community and in a future would like to live here. The staff was nice. For the activities you have to go to a nearby community but it is very close. I liked that everything was very decorated the carpet seemed new.

A Place for Mom has scored The Manor 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
