We've had Mom in three different assisted living facilities. Never believe the sales person.

It's a great, safe, clean, overpriced senior living community that I do recommend if your loved one can afford it." Grossly overcharging these poor seniors - the 1 bedroom apartment should be $[removed] at most for seniors on a limited budget not nearly $[removed].

I would tell others looking into The Madison Village that they have taken their time and answered all o my questions honestly. The main reason I chose this facility over others I looked at was because of the space and close proximity to my family. The apartment sizes are good. It is a good choice for independent living.

For me, The Madison Village is an okay place to live. The staff is okay. Friendliness is okay. Meals could be better. And activities could be better.

Most of the staff is very friendly, but there are a few that are very unresponsive. The touted "cleaning" is a joke. My loved one has been there 3 months and her bathroom has not been cleaned by the staff once. And maintenance has a "we will get to it when we get to it" policy.

Much was promised, not delivered. First of all, housekeeping was supposed to clean mom's place every other week. I saw zero evidence of that. The food was passable, but having to call for every single meal and sit through a two minute instructional on how to order was ridiculous. The promised activities never materialized. We were told that mom would be paired up with a buddy who had been there a while to show her around and go with her to activities. That never happened. We were told there was transportation to Dr appts, but could never get a real person to talk to and arrange it. The activity calendar is full, but most of them are for the assisted living, not the independent living. The ones that are for independent living occur in different buildings and it is hard to tell where to go or sign up. The activities director never returned my phone calls until I complained to the facility director. Then she was very rude to me. The maintenance man was also less than patient with my mom. I can't speak to the assisted living, but if you are in the independent living you might as well rent an apt for half the price bc you are truly on your own.

I like that it's a small community. They get to know their residents personally, and I believe they genuinely care about them. They've been responsive whenever I've had issues come up. So I really can't complain. The only area for improvement would be activities. I would like to see a little bit more in the afternoons between lunch and dinner in particular.

Madison Village has independent living apartments, so you would have to hire your own house keeping or care services if needed. Since this is independent living there isn't much interaction between the staff members and residents, but for those we were able to talk to, they were great. The social worker that was staffed at this community was awesome. The value for this community was decent.

A Place for Mom has scored The Madison Village 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
