We toured The Kensington Reston during our search for an Assisted Living facility for my loved one. This facility was really special! However, it was on another planet in terms of cost.
Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was a fabulous tour and a fabulous community
The Kensington is better than the other communities I have been in. The community is exemplary. The responsiveness of the staff is wonderful! The staff respond quickly to the call buttons when pushed by the residents. The staff are cordial to my loved one, and have developed a rapport with them. The staff interaction with the family has been great! They are willing to meet with the family anytime that we need, and this goes for the management team as well. They are willing to partner with the family to ensure that our loved one is receiving the care they need. There is entertainment almost daily to entertain the residents. The activities overall are fabulous. The physical and occupational therapy has made great strides in assisting my loved one in making progress to regain their strength.

I have mixed thoughts. It's really a great place except for the money. When they admitted my loved one, they classified her at a high care level, which is very expensive. They are refusing to lower it now, even though she's getting much better. Also, we had some problems with the care in the beginning. For instance, she went without a shower for the first two months. But slowly but surely the care has been getting straightened out. Other than the money, it's very nice and she's happy there. Her mental state is an awful lot better since moving in. And their in-house PT has been very good.

This community was okay we just knew that another community was what my loved one really needed. The tour was nice and informative.
