The facility smells really nice but they don't always keep up with the bathrooms. Staff are really nice. I think the quality of care at the Grove is as good as it can be considering that the owners who get the money are not the people on site seeing how the caregivers are struggling. I think this is a problem in all nursing homes It's hard to get a call back sometimes from the business office and occasionally from the director My mother's a picky eater and she loves the food With the restricted amount of caregivers it's really hard to have many activities in memory care and both of my parents complain of being bored all the time even though there's music going all the time that's not really their thing Unfortunately the money is what it is and I don't understand why because they don't have enough caregivers but I understand that Florida allows them to have the number they have which goes back to the problem of the parent company not really knowing or caring what's going on inside the memory care but again this is probably a problem with every facility The Grove has worked hard this past year or so to filter out staff with inappropriate behavior towards the residents. This results in staff with more experience and better training and it seems to work well. Staff is also responsive to me as an individual which makes me feel good about communication and other such things.... Read more

The food is poor. The staff is very kind and welcoming. However, with those improvements we would recommend The Grove at Canopy community to other families.

Staff friendliness is genuine and fantastic. Wish I could can that. Communication on financial and fees is awful. Sales department has a credibility issue.

I have heard quite a few complaints on the food from my loved one and the other residents here seem to say the same thing. I do really like the apartment size and my loved one does too. The kitchen is nice and gets a lot of natural light. The main concern is that the whole floor was supposed to be independent living but now there are some residents on the floor who need more assistance. There is not as much balance as my loved one initially thought that there would be.

We had a very good tour at The Grove at Canopy. The facility was quite new. And I liked that they had considerably fewer memory care beds than other facilities we looked at.
My mom was the first resident of Memory Care at The Grove. Since the day she moved in, we couldn’t be more pleased with her care. [name removed], the Memory Care Director, is caring and compassionate with many years experience in the unique needs of these sweet souls. The nurses and caregiving staff are held to high standards, which are evident in the superior care the residents receive. The residents stay busy with fun activities every day, thanks to the wonderful engagement staff. The food is top-notch and served restaurant style with new menus daily. As family members, we rely on the staff for compassion and care during the ups and downs of the dementia journey. The excellent care of our loved ones has continued despite the many challenges of 2020. Working in memory care is a calling, not just a job, and I am so grateful for the dedication of each member of The Grove family.

The community at the time was brand new, and the rooms there are very nice. Our loved one says the food is okay not great, and sometimes our loved one can't figure out what it is. However, we would recommend this community to others

Another new place, nice and clean inside and looked like a lobby of a 5 star hotel. [Name removed] was not able to see us, but we did fill out paperwork. If starting prices we were quoted are accurate, it would not be affordable.

Beautiful facility !!! Very large spaces inside and out. I think Mama would have trouble getting around because of distances. More geared to independent living. Brand new with few residents at this time

A Place for Mom has scored The Grove at Canopy 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
