The Ganzhorn Suites of Avon is a memory care community in Avon, Ohio, in the west Cleveland suburbs. This specialized community is located on the same campus as the Cleveland Clinic Avon. The mission of this community is to meet the evolving needs of residents with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The staff understands that each resident experiences a unique journey and tailors each care plan to fit individual needs, strengths, and abilities.
This community was designed to help residents maintain their cognitive function for as long as possible. Small households, private suites, abundant natural light, circular paths, and simple décor with memory cues combine to create a soothing, easy-to-navigate environment. I am very happy with my grandma's care at The Ganzhorn Suites. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. The facility is maintained well and the nurse managers are always present and available to address any concerns that may arise.

My mom has strived since being here! I was really worried about the transition into a community setting but we couldn't have found a more caring community from administration to the nurses, caregivers, and enrichment caregivers. My mom has been so happy! Thank you to A Place for mom for helping us find this community!

I am very pleased with my mother's care here, her room is always clean, everyone is always smiling and so friendly! It's a breath of fresh air!! The receptionist always greets us and offering us refreshments which is a nice touch. I also enjoy going to their monthly Memory Loss Empowerment Group. It has helped me through my mom's dementia diagnosis.

Everyone was so friendly, I was blown away to learn they have a memory support group and a resource library to help support caregivers. It seems like they really paid attention to detail. Lunch also looked delicious when we toured!

If you are thinking of putting a loved one here please think twice. The only positive thing we can say is the actual residence is beautiful because it is brand new. In the two and half weeks my mom was there, they promised us the world. They stated that there was a high staff to patient ratio compared to other places. These were all MISREPRESENTATIONS. My mom was first given the wrong medication (over medicated which essentially led her to a hospital), she fell out of the bed twice (in which one circumstance she was on the floor for over an hour until EMS showed up because they didn't have a protocol with our family in place), and my mother was denied being brought to the bathroom when she or my father requested multiple times during her short stay. The nurse and the aides said "oh we don't do that, they go in the diapers". SERIOUSLY? When we had a meeting with upper management they assured us that the staff would never say that. We don't want anyone to go through the nightmare.
