My tour at The Crossings at Flower Mound was great - I thought it was a really nice place. It was just at a considerable distance away from where I live, but If I lived in that area, I probably would have chosen them.
There was nothing wrong with my tour of The Crossings at Flower Mound. The place had very few residents, there were only about 16 people at the time. They have recently taken new administration, even though the company has been in existence for quite a few years. The staff there were new and I didn't feel that they'd been there long enough to have established any longevity. Without longevity, I questioned if they would be able to demonstrate if it would work out for them there, and that the residents would experience consistency of care. With staffing being an issue in todays society, without having the ability to demonstrate how long people have worked there, is one red flag. The other red flag is them not having a lot of residents with reviews of how it is under new administration. The third red flag is that they're a little more than an hour away from me. One of the things I did like about it: I was introduced to some residents in the dining room while they were having lunch. The food seemed better here than the community we landed at. The residents were nice and articulate, they chatted with me; but the person I talked to didn't interact with the residents or speak of them with the same compassion, empathy, or passion that I found at the other community. At the other community, I met everyone; I was introduced to every person who worked there and I interacted with them. When I saw how the staff interacted with and treated the residents here, I knew that would also be my moms experience. I'm quite familiar with sales and I don't need you to "sell" me. I needed to feel how you are going to interact with my mom once she lives there. When I was there, lunch was ending and they were wheeling people into this TV room/area. The lady working there was asking for help and the person touring me just kind of ignored her. However, he was proud to tell me that the same lady was one of the singers in the Mama and Papas group. I asked her what was their next activity, but she didn't know. She showed me their calendar of events. The next activity wasn't going to be until 2:30pm, and it was 12:30pm. I asked her, "So this lady in the wheelchair is just going to sit here for two hours with nothing to do?" She didn't have an answer for me.
Toured many places and all were great, ended up with best fit location for our loved one.

September 6, 2022We are happy to hear you have had an overall good experience at our community. We strive to create a great experience for our residents and their loved ones at The Crossings at Flower Mound. by Willow River Senior Living (Regional Sales & Marketing, VP)
We hit a real home run with this community and we are so happy our loved one is here. Right when we met the staff on the tour we could tell they had a certain level of professionalism to them. They are highly trained when it comes to different levels of Alzheimer's and Dementia, they are very patient with the residents and understanding. We always see the cleaning lady working on the rooms and she does a very good job we are happy with it. They have painting classes that our loved one really enjoys, we always get pictures of her paintings and other things she is doing. They also bring in musician's to perform for the resident's. They just have outstanding levels of care, professionalism, and keep the community well maintained.

The crossings has been a Godsend. The sales person and staff welcomed me from the moment I called them and have walked side by side with me through the process of getting moved. No other facility showed interest with helping me through the process besides The Crossings. We had multiple contacts a day and still daily since she moved in, Incredible.

Our family had a tour experience and the director was very nice, friendly and gave good information but nothing really stood out about the community itself.
I don't have any worries at all and they really are taking good care of our loved one. The community is very clean and my loved ones' room is beautiful. Communication with the staff has been good and I would recommend this community to others.

I moved my sister, [name removed], who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, to this facility 8 months ago. The staff and caregivers are amazing. They all treat my sister with love and care as they genuinely understand the intricacies of Alzheimer’s disease and how it affects our loved ones. I encourage anyone who is in need of a home for their loved one who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease to check out this home.

A Place for Mom has scored The Crossings at Flower Mound 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
