The place was a mess. The staff was unprofessional and rude. I wouldn’t have any family member stay at that place. Do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere please.

I would recommend the Watermark. It is a good size, you could tell that the staff knew all the residents by name. The outdoor space is okay. It is a very clean place. We really liked the community and maybe if we would have moved my mom in sooner it would have been a better fit. I feel we missed the window for my mom.

There are many good things about this facility such as activities and cleanliness. However, I have been disappointed due to smoking being allowed and rules regarding smokers are not enforced. Food is poor quality with lots of sandwiches, canned fruit, pasta and pizza. There is no one at front desk after 5:00 until morning at this facility. Therefore, there is no one to check on loved one or find information. Rooms are equipped with chain pulls which are only effective if you fall beside one. Rooms are only checked every hour or two hours depending on schedule you select. Most falls are reported by residents close by who hear a neighbor calling out. Every residents needs a alert button around neck to call for assistance. Some residents wait a long time for bath assistance, laundry being done, etc. It is unfortunate this nice facility cannot seem to correct these issues.

A Place for Mom has scored The Camellia at Gulf Breeze 6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
