Sunrise of Overland Park

She is no longer there as the rent went up and she needed less care. It was a good experience overall but we were not expecting the increase and it was outside of her budget. They spent a lot of money on a remodel and most of the living rooms were never used and not practical. The apartments were also very small. The chef left abruptly and very upsetting to the residents and after that food was below average.

The director of sales worked wonderfully with me and the hospital social worker/case worker to make sure my loved one qualified and would fit in at Sunrise of Overland Park. The ladies in the health room have worked with me to make sure her medications and insurance are covered and working in her best interests! Care managers seem to be on top of it. Over all it has been a good experience so far.

I moved my mother-in-law out of Sunrise several months ago because their pricing kept going up. They priced us out totally and staying there was not sustainable. Very disappointing to have to move a 102-year-old woman in the winter but I had no choice. I would only recommend if money is no object.

The entire experience was terrific from tour to move in and continues now that mom calls Sunrise home. The staff is very very friendly. They are attentive to the residence needs and question's. It takes a while to get settled in but that is normal for the changes one goes through at this time in life. Every day things get better and the people at Sunrise do everything they can to assist in this transformation. We’re very happy.

We were atrracted, to the staff and the reviews. I talked to people who had loved ones here. We picked this community, because they were proffessional, I liked the friendliness,and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. It seemed like a better fit for my loved one.The billing has been an issue, so it would be nice if they had a better system, and followed-up with phone calls. I would recommend to other families.

They are very caring people that work here. They are all so happy, you hear them laughing and giggling with each other which is a good sign that they like what they do and work well as a team. He loves the food. They are chef prepared meals, [name removed] the chef is wonderful. They have a menu to choose from and there are a variety of options for each meal. I would highly recommend Sunrise of Overland Park to other families.

We picked this community because of the large rooms and cost. I have been satisfied with everything. my advice to other families is, to look at several of the communities. Pricing is not the same at them.

My friend, loves the food. It seems to be the going the rate but it's expensive/reasonable compared to other places. I was highly impressed, at how they made things happen at the last min and they were so accomodating.

While searching for a new care facility for my mom, I asked Sunrise very specific questions related to experiences of neglect, abuse, & near death of my mom in her prior community. Questions were based on the experiences, providing specific examples related to each instance, & then asked the Sunrise staff about their philosophy & protocol of "care" was for each example. They were tough questions, because, well they were traumatic Sunrise accused me of being angry (although, another family member was also in the meeting & affirms that I was not angry at all; however, my mom's trauma at the previous care facility would & should cause anyone to be angry, but I was not during that meeting). Sunrise used that as a defense, because the examples & questions hit to closely with their own philosophy & protocols of care. Ultimately, they denied my mom, for which I am extremely grateful. Everybody is friendly, helpful, and professional. The caregivers are well trained and competent. My mom is very happy there. She tells me the food is good too. And it's kept very clean. Periodically they shampoo the carpets. There are no objectionable odors. And the staff that does the cleaning of the apartments is very good.

We chose Sunrise of Overland Park because we loved the homey atmosphere and the loving care that they give all of their residents. The room sizes here are very good. I would tell others looking that I think your loved one would be happy here and I would definitely recommend them.

We aren't able to see the cleanliness of the community due to the covid restrictions and they keep increasing the rates.
