I would definitely recommend the facility if you can afford it. The staff really want to help during the troubling times, even though you may not know it at the time. It's been a while since I've lived there, but I keep in touch with the residents and they tell me that the food is getting better. There seem to be more choices now.... Read more

I am so happy to be living at StoryPoint for the last 2.5 years. I have felt cared for and safe during Covid-19, it has helped so much not to be alone. Also, the other residents have helped me, too. We share stores and concerns about our families. Someone is always available to help us, too. Like I push the wrong key on my computer and it went black, not long someone was here and had the computer up and going again.

Although I am fairly new, I have been very impressed at how the facility has handled the Coronavirus, watching out for the welfare of the residents. I really enjoy living here. I feel safe and secure. "Everyone" is a friend.

My parents moved to Storypoint in October 2019. The things that impressed us the most before the move were cleanliness of the buidling and staff, friendliness of the staff and quality of the food. My father passed unexpectedly in January 2020. During this time we recieved a wealth of support from the staff, Executive Director, and most importantly, the Director of Nursing. Everyone demonstrated a geniune interest in "how we were doing" and provided a lot of support. After my father's passing, the staff made recommendations they felt would help support my mother, after the loss of her husband (69 years of marriage). I am confident she is recieving good care. I have peace of mind knowing I can call 24/7 and speak with a nurse if I have questions or concern. Our family also enjoys visiting and participating in the activities offered for the residents. Most recently, my mother enoyed attending the Valentines Dance, with a Swing Band. It was especially fun for me, as a family members, watching all the staff participate in the dance with residents - from office staff to dining room staff!

This community is lovely and welcoming community. The staff is very friendly. My other has a very kind and thorough house keeper. The common areas are very well maintained. She has made some nice friends since she moved in. The staff is also very friendly to me as a family member. I feel very comfortable with my mother's safety since I live several hours away.

My grandfather and grandmother moved into StoryPoint in Troy last summer. I have been so impressed with their facilities and willingness to help! The assisted living apartment is nice and clean which makes visiting easy. Our family enjoys attending ice cream socials (which are complimentary) and other fun events at the facility. I also have a one year old who enjoys visiting too. About 6 months ago my grandfather passed away. The staff was so thoughtful and brought a whole buffet of breakfast food to my grandma’s room for her and any guests that might be visiting. I will never forget that! After my grandfather passed I was worried that my grandmother would not be able to stay in assisted living by herself but the staff works extra hard to be able to keep her in her apartment and happy. I am so glad my grandparents chose StoryPoint.

My mom is very happy at Storypoint. She has memory loss so it’s not always aware of her surroundings. The staff is so patient with her and make sure that when she goes down for lunch she is sitting by her friends she has met there. They are always so pleasant and nice when I come to visit. And supportive when my children bring my grandchildren there too. We can be loud! But they love having visitors at the facility and are very welcoming.

The facility is new,3 years old, and is very pleasant. The Halls are wide and bright and the elevator is also wide and large. The rooms have a nice balcony. There are programs available for the residents, including interactions with preschool children from across the street. The big downside for me is that the facility does not have Medicaid beds. If a resident depletes his money, although they will help to find possible monies, the resident will have to find a new facility.

A Place for Mom has scored StoryPoint Troy 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
