Silverado Overland Park Memory Care Community

What we like the most about Silverado Overland Park is the staff to patient ratio and based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

We have not had good experiences on any of these sadly to say. What they could improve on would be doing their job without us having to tell them. Not getting meds when supposed to and showers when supposed to. Not doing what the company said they would do.

Staff was truly caring and they worked well with the hospice team.

I know my mother was a difficult case with frequent falls, but I felt like they asked she be placed on Hospice rapidly (after saying a month prior they often wondered why she was there) so someone else was responsible for her care. Additionally, the last month, I had to pay for private duty to watch her because of her frequent falls. I realize this was a memory center. But I felt they were more concerned with patient activities rather than patient care. I felt they just pocketed at least 3/4 of the over [amount removed] a month I was paying, and turned care to Hospice and private duty. They rarely had enough staff, and several times, going there for lunch. I saw several residents which were unable to feed themselves not getting fed.

It is without reservation that I recommend Silverado of Overland Park, KS as a home for your loved one with dimentia or Alzheimer's. My mother has been a resident there for 25 months. She is loved by both fellow residents and staff. My husband and I visited several elder housing locations before we chose Silverado. We were impressed by the cleanliness, personal care, staff, and daily schedules. Each resident is given their specific medications, provided three well balanced health meals per day in addition to snacks provided whenever they want them or at least twice each day. Holidays and birthdays are celebrated, laundry is done, and each resident has a caregiver assigned to him/her. I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.

It’s all Smoke and Mirrors. They’ll have you believe the images you see on social media represent their quality of care. It couldn’t be further from the truth. They only post functioning residents that are doing activities they could do at any facility. Weekends are inadequately staffed. Not only are there are minimal LPN’s to ensure the cleanliness of incontinent residents, there is no RN or other leadership nursing staff at the facility. Potential families should also know that residents who aren’t able to feed themselves won’t have someone feeding them. They’ll get what I called “Fly-by Spoonfuls”. Which is exactly what it sounds like. Kitchen staff scooping a spoonful of food to the resident as they go in and out of the kitchen. This facility loves families who don’t ask questions or hold them accountable!

All staff are very friendly and open. Housekeeping is good. The move in process was smooth. The meals are great! I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

The director is great and she really works hard to make the community and the culture amazing. The community is neat and clean and they take care good care of my loved ones. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The community is very nice and friendly. The staff answers all my questions. The communication is very good between the staff and the families and they keep us well informed I would recommend this community to others. Overall the community has done a great job

We have had a good experience with Forest Creek Memory Care so far. We chose this facility because they were friendly and answered a ll my questions and it is a smaller community. It is strictly for memory care as well so that sold me. The staff have been very friendly and helpful and really work with me to help get me appointments with my wife to visit. I would recommend them.

I'm so glad we found this community for my Aunt and Uncle. The staff is great to work with they have a lot of interaction with them. They have the knowledge and they care. They are eating good 3x a day and loving to activities too. They handed out candy at Halloween and they had a dance. The community is always immaculate. The grounds are nice and well maintained, they love to walk around daily. I would recommend this place.

Unfortunately my wife has since passed, but this community did a great job taking care of her. They were very attentive, and caring towards the family during this difficult time. I have nothing but good things to say about this community. They were very helpful, and accommodating through out the whole process. The community is light , and airy. She was safe, and good hands in this community. I have already recommended this community to my friends.

My mother is having a hard time adjusting, but the staff seems to be very attentive. Right now, they only have about 12 residents so they give my mother a lot of attention, but I am worried about what will happen when they get more residents. I hope they will still be able to provide her the same care. The community us clean and organized. It has been a good experience!
