We chose this community because of the cost and the location. The food was very good, a lot of times if you missed a meal they would make you what they had on hand. The room sizes were big, they could have used a little more cubbard space. She liked puzzles, books, and cards and they accommodated those activities for her. I would recommend Shady Rest, it was a good value for our dollar and the staff was very informative and pleasant. For the money, it was an all around nice place. It is an affordable place to live in the city. Everyone there is friendly. The staff is wonderful. I think the food is fine. The layout is good. They do have stairs but they have a stair climber and do a good job putting people with mobility issues on the first floor. Nice porch area. Staff there 24/7. Not a secured property. A good value for your money.
