Savannah Grand of Columbus

Savannah Grand (run by [name removed]) is full of crooks, please do not send your loved one here! We signed a contract in Oct. since we were pressured into reserving "the last room" - and we've never seen a dime of our $8,500 since. Our loved one has NEVER EVEN BEEN to their facility, she was never released from the hospital! She has never put a foot inside the building, yet we are getting MONTHLY bills from Savannah Grand on top of the $8,500 we already paid! We have sent letters to the Ombudsman's office, the BBB, and several other entities, and the BBB sent back a letter stating even they can't get Savannah Grand to respond to the complaint and refund our money. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THESE ABSOLUTE CROOKS!!! They will make promises to get your money, & then the fun really starts. They lied about fees, they lied about the level of care they are able to provide, & they were NOT even qualified to provide the level of care she needed. They lie to get your money.

The location is perfect as is very close to my home and works out great for when go there.

Don’t move your loved ones here. They will not be cared for as promised or expected. What matters are we here? Chili cook offs for managers. What doesn’t matter here? Residents getting showers (only 1 shower given by staff in two months and that was bc I asked for it. Not one notification to me), having toilet paper (none for two days except what she found by walking the halls and grabbing scrap rolls) or medications being properly dispensed when we left we discovered she was missing two of her prescribed medications and her blood pressure was off the charts for the first time in years). Stay away.

I would tell others to look elsewhere and not use this community. The community has bed bugs and we had to throw away all of her stuff. We were not told about these issues I found out while we were moving my loved one. I would not recommend this community. The medical staff is fantastic, but the director I have not liked our interactions. The communication between the staff and the family was not good at all. I have requested our loved ones' medical records 3 times and we still have not received them.

This place is not good! We had my father in there for about 18 months. At first everything was good and we had no issues. Then Covid hit and everything changed! The Executive Director left the facility, as well as the Office Manager. When that happened, almost all communication ceased! We were visiting my dad 4 times a week before covid hit. Then we could not visit at all. We could not go in the facility. It was abysmal! We picked up my dad last week and we were shocked at what we saw! My dad had cuts on his face and when we asked what happened, all they would say is he fell. Then we found out he was not staying in his room because they had bed bugs. Turns out the facility has been battling bed bugs for a while. They threw out my dad's bed and sofa and NEVER contacted us. Save yourself the heart ache and stay away!

I would tell others we did not have a good experience. Do not move a loved one here unless they can completely take care of themselves and be independent.

The cleanliness stood out to us in the beginning, it was one of the better smelling communities we looked at. The rooms they provide are about average in size, and from our understanding the food seems to be well prepared. However, this community is lacking staff members, they don't seem to have enough for the number of residents there.

The director was very disorganized and made promises that she couldn't keep. They said they would provide levels of care and they did not. The did not deliver on any promises made. The staff were really good but that were very understaffed. It was pure hell there for my mother.

The staff at Savannah Grand seem competent enough. The sales department over promised and under delivered. They indicated they could care for my mother, who has moderate dementia and sundowners. That turned out not to be the case. Her room was dark and dreary, the painters had spattered paint on the new carpet and bathroom floor, and the toilet leaked around the base and was poorly caulked. The bathroom vanity needed replacing, also. There were not enough outlets in either room. The “activities director” had very few activities and what they did have was poorly attended by residents. I did advise staff there that I would give it 30 days to see if it would work. We took my mother home after only a few weeks. Not the proper placement. We wasted valuable resources. I should have gone with my gut, which told me this was not the place for my mother. [Name removed]

Savannah Grand is a nice place but not the best fit for my mother-in-law. Staff was very helpful.

My father stayed at Savannah Court for a week on a respite stay. It was a very good experience, he has stayed in other places before but they stopped doing short term stays. This place was a bit more expensive but better than the other places. My father did mention that the meals were good and they had activities available. He likes to play cards and he found some residents to play with. overall, A good experience.

So far all is well for my loved one, and her move to this community. We do feel she is safe, and good hands. The staff have been very friendly, and polite. When we come to visit the community looks nice, and well maintained. Everything is moving in a positive direction for us at this community, and I would recommend it.

There are no good words about our experience. They said they would except my dad with his physical needs and all his requirements. A hospice nurse noticed he was not being given his medication that was very critical. His lungs collapsed because of this.

I am happy with the care here for my father-in-law. They are caring and compassionate. The food does need improvement, in my opinion, however my in-laws have not complained. We are happy that the community is very clean. They do have activities for the residents to participate in. I would recommend this community for the great care and value for other families.

The staff is doing well with mom. The food is good for the most part. I like that they have activities for my mom to participate in. The community and mom's room are always clean. I really have no complaints.

My friend and I had a lovely tour of this community. Everyone was very welcoming and nice. All our questions were answered, and our tour guide was very helpful. The community looked great, they do a good job with the cleanliness. They treated us very respectful and polite. Beautiful Community overall.

They are a wonderful community. Everything was excellent for my sister. We are no longer using their services but only because my sister has progressed so much, she is able to move out. I would recommend this community if needed.
