January 11, 2024Thank you so much for this great review! We're glad to hear you've had a great experience. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!
It has been a while since we toured, but I remember that we were very impressed with Prestige Assisted Living at Marysville, perhaps even more than the facility we ended up choosing. The person who gave us the tour was great. We were also introduced to other staff members along the way as well. We decided on another facility just based off of location to family.

Response from Prestige Assisted Living at Marysville
March 4, 2022Hi Denise, thank you for this review! We're so happy to hear that your mother is enjoying it here. Our team enjoys working with her very much and we're glad that she's having a good experience. Please be in touch if we can be of any assistance!
We chose Prestige Assisted Living because it was nice, clean, and a big facility and the price was good at the time, we got a discount. My parents have a great size room, the memory care rooms are a little on the smaller side. Sometimes I think that they could use improvement on the communication between the staff and the residents. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

They were friendly, but the problem was in the level of medical care. They waited on my loved one pretty well, but I never saw them clean. They didn't do laundry often enough. They were not on top of medical care. An outside vendor brings in the food, and they would serve scrambled eggs almost every single day. My loved one said it was okay, but they definitely needed some more variety. It was too cookie-cutter, and the quality wasn't very high. They would overfeed her as well, which made medication management difficult when she would refuse meals later in the day. They didn't do a good job encouraging my loved one to get out of her room and participate. They required 2-week quarantines every time she had to leave for an appointment. They also didn't do a great job of controlling Covid once it was inside the building. I don't think the upper manager at Prestige is up to snuff. I talked to the regional manager, and she was receptive and seemed like she took action. I had trouble with billing once we moved out, and the regional manager had everything taken care of within a week. She was very nice, sympathetic, apologetic. Overall the employees were nice and didn't give me a lot of problems - I had more issues with the director and the nurse. A big selling point they used was that they had a nurse on staff, and then she said she couldn't even put on an ace bandage. All she ended up doing were administrative things. I feel that was really misconstrued / false advertising. There was one instance where we had a later appointment in the day, and no one was there at the front. We waited in the lobby, and no one answered the phone or the buzzer. The door was ajar, so I was able to walk my loved one in. But anybody could have walked in there, which was concerning to me. There just needs to be procedures and precautions in place when something unexpected happens.

Stay Away for this community. The staff haven't communicated with us at all. They gave her more freedom, as they thought my loved one was more independent than they were. My loved one's clothes were intermingled. I've not heard from the community about my loved one's fall. I feel there should be more concern for memory care residents. I'm not happy with the community. I've not heard anything from Betsy, and I think the overall communication is laxed.

It was a nice and smaller type community. The only problem I had was my dad didn't require the level of medical care that they were charging him for and giving him. The caregivers were exceptional. I chose this community because he was discharging hospital and he needed more intensive attention for a short term than I could provide for him at home. I would recommend this community for less independent residents than my dad was.

I loved this facility. Everyone was so nice, the apartments are great, they have lots of activities, beautiful garden areas, and it didn't smell bad. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the price is outrageous! On the app it doesn't show that there is another charge per month for the level of care needed. So it's $550+ on top of the price range per month. But besides that I loved it

Compared to where my dad was last year this place is heaven. He is happy and well taken care of not ignored by any means. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and always around when you need something. My dad eats extremely well. He is playing bingo and making friends. They keep the inside of the place clean at all times. If I could I would rate them a 10, not just a 5. I would definitely recommend them

Everyone at Prestige Senior Living is warm and kind to my aunt. We appreciate their efficiency and help when arranging for her to move into memory care. The first few weeks were an adjustment for her and the staff did a great job communicating with us and supporting her on the transition. We are welcome every time we arrive for a visit. We especially appreciate their help when we are challenged by her negative behavior from her dementia. We know she is in the best place for her.

Despite the short amount of time experienced there I am at this point quiet comfortable with all that I have received. The care has been so far okay, and the living conditions are nicely kept , at this point I have yet to become disappointed. I will be updating after more time residing here

The girls who help my loved one are very kind. The administrators are a little hard to reach. Assisted living costs less and there’s better, but the food isn’t as in the memory care. The medication – when we first got there – They get their medication through their own provider and you can’t select another provider.

This facility works with the families on a very personal level. It's clean and easy on the eyes. The administration is very friendly and they are there for any questions or concerns. I am mostly happy with this facility. It would be even better if the care takers got a bit more money. They sometimes don't understand the needs of the residents. However, I suspect that it's that way in every facility. Not all personalities match.

We surveyed over 20 communities that were in our area that offered the level of care we needed. We looked into prices versus what services they offered. We interviewed over 40 previous employees and residents of these communities and they all stated Prestige Assisted living was the best community in the area. Some of the employees had been fired from them and yet they still said it was the best in the area. The Prestige in Oroville did not have any availability for Dementia but they allowed us to keep our parents in the assisted living area. After a few days we realized that it would not be able to work so we moved our loved one to Marysville because they had availability for Dementia care. Both of these communities are the best and there is no competition. We would highly recommend the Prestige communities to anyone.

Prestige Assisted living is a very good community. They offer lots of activities and have very nice common areas where they can watch TV. They also have a separate area where the residents can listen to music and relax. The food is really good and the staff is really nice. They have a much better staff to resident ratio then other communities we had looked at. If a resident can't sleep they are ok with it and will spend time with them. They have one door that the residents to go out of that leads to a very secure completely fenced in backyard. The backyard has a very nice lawn and chairs it is just very inviting. It also has concrete walkways so the residents can walk around. We would absolutely recommend Prestige to anyone.
