My relative was tested at his facility to move into Peregrine. I had a moving company move his heavy items, and I moved the rest myself. When I arrived I noticed the residents all sitting in lined up chairs waiting for some entertainment. They all looked the same like manikins in a row. A few hours after he arrived there, his aid discovered that he had a bed sore, and the staff said he was not allowed to stay there with a bed sore. They sent him to the hospital. The hospital examined him and sent him back, but Peregrine refused him again and sent him back to the hospital. The bed sore was level 2 and Peregrine would not take him back until it was healed. Peregrine was going to hold his room until he was better. He contracted pneumonia twice, E-coli, and a bladder infection when he was at his rehab facility. Two months went by and Peregrine came to test him. They did not take him back, and he had to pay $[removed]+ for his less than one day stay at Peregrine.

My loved one was previously a resident at Peregrine Senior Living at Onondaga Hill and the overall experience was okay. To be honest, when my loved one first went there I thought it was great. But, it's more of the "looks" of the facility that fools you. Communication wasn't always the best. Meals were very good, my loved one definitely enjoyed the meals. I feel the turnover for aides seemed like a lot. I never knew who my loved one's aide was because they didn't always wear their name tags, and it seemed to be a different one all the time. I witnessed staff yelling at residents, also the medication tech was saying stuff out loud like she didn't get paid enough for what she had to do. For the cost, which went up 3 times in a year in a half, I wouldn't recommend. I moved my loved one to a different facility.

It's a safe clean environment for my mother, and people treat the residents very well. I feel they could do better getting her involved in daily activities since she can't remember what's going on. It's been a blessing for her, and us.

What we like most about Peregrine Senior Living is the staff, they are easy to work with, and provide an excellent facility and programs for the people residing there. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

The staff is great. Very caring and always running around making sure that everyone is okay. I had to bring my father back from the hospital around 11 pm one night. We were met by a dark lobby and no one picking up the phone. Knocked on the front window until a staff member finally opened the door which was a concern. So the day time is awesome but I was concerned about night time. I did not speak to anyone about that occurrence though since it was a one time thing.

The place is a beautiful welcoming environment when you first walk in. Their activities are great (if you can get your loved one to participate.) The director is very responsive to any issues, some other staff not so much. I know they have had some turnover with staff which has been challenging also. For the most part i have been pleased with my dad's care.

Our family had an in person tour and this was second on our list, the tour person was very friendly and it is a much newer facility which is really nice
I have been happy to have my mother at Peregrine. She’s been there for 8 months so far. The staff have been wonderful, the place is very clean, and they have activities going on all the time, including excursions in the summer. They are careful to keep Covid out. The only caveat I have is that there doesn’t seem to be a mechanism for communication, so I don’t know how my mother is doing. She seems fine when I visit, but it would be nice to have confirmation and a little detail.

Some people are very oustanding, and some barley make ordinary. There is alot of people with important jobs, and some that just occupy a chair. I am very dissapointed at amount of education/training with staff They lack training and corporate culture. I thought my loved one would get love/attention, for the amount of money that is being paid. You have to really stay on top of things. They should have more frsh fruits/veggies according to the season. Regarding activities, the schedule is good but the staff should know the interests of the residents, and theydon't do a good job of linking residents with activities

Staff left my father alone in another room (50's diner) to eat because all tables in main area for dining were full of residents. After a fall my father was isolated to his room right after coming back from ED because a worker from peregrine exposed him to covid. I tried to tell them he would fall again, he was just discharged from ED, confused and unsteady. I said this was unsafe and was ignored. He did fall again the next day however they never notified us of what happened, the ambulance notified us when they called to ask what hospital they should take him to. Another issue was my dad was wearing other residents clothes and his clothes were always missing, and many never found. This was a huge dignity issue. There was a lack of follow though when we asked for physical therapy although they did admit they dropped the ball. I understand no place is perfect but the problem was a continuing pattern of lack of follow through and dignity issues, and unsafe monitoring plans.

It's a really nice place to put someone that you love; we feel that our parents are cared for there. Some of their activities include cooking, physical activity games, pets, live music, memory games, outings, etc.. Although my loved one doesn't participate in much, I do see these things going on within the community. Communication is primarily through email; but I know that if ever and whenever I have a question, I can feel free to call them. They have open communication and are willing to communicate with us. Overall I would recommend Peregrine Senior Living at Onondaga Hill to others.

I am vey impressed with Peregrine. The staff seem to be actively reaching out to the family and have been responsive. They seem to be very well staffed for the amount of residents that they have. They have plenty of great group activities provided. There is an outside courtyard so they are able to do some of the activities outside as well. They have live music that comes in and have chapel services each day too. I have seen the menu and the meals look to be nutritious. Before anyone comes in to visit they check your temperature so they are good with their covid protocols and really looking out for the residents safety. I would recommend Peregrine to others looking for memory care.

The staff members and their care services are amazing, their attentiveness, and helpfulness is something we really appreciate. They always know what is going on with our loved one, they are highly communicative with our family, and they take time to explain things that need explanation's. The facility itself is incredible, and they have so many scheduled activities daily. They are by design and operationally set up to deal with those with memory loss issues and they introduced us to thing with memory loss that we never knew of. They helped us handle with breakdowns our loved one would have, they helped us keep up conversations when they would have reoccurring topics and help redirect them.
