Keepsake has been easy to deal with from the very beginning. I asked for a tour and was given one with 48 hrs. My questions were answered effectively and everything is straight forward and has been accurate. The care here is very good and makes me feel very comfortable when I’m not there. The transition for my father was quick as he now looks at keepsake as his home. They are an enhanced facility which has been important since he now needs the extra level of care and we didn’t have to change facilities... Read more

After looking at memory care facilities for my mother I decided on Keepsake village. It is not the biggest or the newest, and i think that is a good thing. One of the big things for me was that they have 2 registered nurses on staff. They have actvites all day long to keep her engaged. They exercise every day and my mother is walking better now than she has, and does not complain about aches and pains as much anymore. She seems happy there and likes the staff. It is expensive but there is a lot of stuff included that was not included at other facilities.

I don't really think that our experience is necessarily a good barometer. My husband was there about a month. The reason I sent him there was because they said they could manage his diabetes and aggression. They could not. He was sent to the hospital 2x because of his blood sugar. The 2d time he stayed in the hospital until he passed away. To be fair I don't know if the place exists that would address the challenges that we faced- which is really too bad because my husband can't be the only person who had the difficulties he had, yet there seemed to be no facility which was equipped to an handle a patient like him. It was a frustrating and heartbreaking experience

I chose this location because of the staff, the communication as well as the location. My father is very happy at Keepsake. I would recommend. And as a nurse I will tell you that staffing is an issue everywhere. The key is to be involved with the people caring for your loved one. Be involved in the day to day life.

My loved one was in a rehab facility and when they evaluated her, the only match we could find for her was Keepsake Village. Our experience was very good. Mom was only there for 6 weeks. She had a UTI and had to go to the hospital, then rehab. After rehab she came to live with us until she passed on [date removed]

I picked this community because of location to me. Costs have gone up, the activities are not everyone's cup of tea. They need to be geared more for active people as well as for those less active. The staff are mostly wonderful, they are willing to work with the family. Memory care is considered assisted living but the doors are locked for safety. I thought there were more services than there are. Memory Care is a lot of money but it keeps dad safe.

We picked this community because, there was a bed available for the care she needed. I would recommend to others. Everyone was so kind.

For the month that mother has been there it's a great place. We picked this community because of there were nurses there that use to work with me. And the staff seemed so friendly.

Response from Keepsake Village
September 14, 2023Thank you so much for leaving a review, Elizabeth! The Keepsake Village at Greenpoint team works very hard to provide phenomenal care, and they appreciate your kind words. Thank you for choosing The Hearth for your mother!
We cannot comment on the meals and dining service because we have not been there while our loved one is eating. I have a peace about my brother, knowing he is well cared for and safe. They have done an excellent job of taking care of my loved one and based on the experience so far, I would recommend them to other families.

Response from Keepsake Village
September 11, 2023Thank you so much for the kind review! The Keepsake Village at Greenpoint team works very hard to compassionately care for our residents, and they appreciate your kind words. Thank you for choosing The Hearth for your brother.
I would only recommend someone going there if they have full-blown Alzheimer's, or really really bad dementia. We picked this community, because of timing and was also the best fit at the time for my mother in law that has anxiety around a lot of people. Smaller facility. The only thing people need to be aware of is that a lot of the people there are more full on Alzheimer's, and really bad dementia. It's not a great place for elderly that are showing signs of dementia. (Beginning stages)

They were wonderful in every category. My wife got excellent care the 5 and half months she was there. I couldn't be more pleased with Keepsake Village and based on the experience we had with the community, we would absolutely recommend them to other families.

Response from Keepsake Village
July 26, 2023Hi, Gary! Thank you so much for the kind words! The Keepsake Village at Greenpoint team works extremely hard, and they appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Thank you again for your feedback, and thank you for choosing The Hearth!
We did not realize from just the tour that they could not handle advanced stages of Alzheimer's care. The day we went, she was having a good day. She needed more help one on one than they give. It is a very nice place though.
In my experience, Keepsake Village has the ability to care for dementia patients more comprehensively than the com n the market. They have an enhanced licensure that lets them keep folks longer. It is definitely the best long-term solution I have found and this is our second memory care facility experience. I would absolutely recommend Keepsake Village to other families looking for memory care.

I would tell others that my loved one is happy and well cared-for. Communication when there are concerns has been a positive experience for the most part. The staff is caring and positive when interacting with residents.

my mom was there about one year. care started out being pretty good but as months went by keeping employees became a problem. staff seem to be not dedicated thus residents did not always get good care. my mom had no soap, shampoo or toothpaste when i went to visit her. In addition she got a bad infestation of bed bugs. my mom is no longer there . thank god. one last point the rent/lease contract has no exceptions to 30 day notice upon cancellation. In other words, if resident dies there you pay one months rent

We were so happy with Keepsake Village that we cancelled all of our other tours and I am glad we did because everything is working out great. [name removed] the director was born to do this job, she is absolutely wonderful. She really takes a personal approach to everything and knows everyone by name. It is expensive, but she is being well taken care of so it is worth it. I would highly recommend Keepsake Village to other families.

May 2, 2022Thank you so much for leaving a 5-star review, [name removed]! The Keepsake Village team has a deep passion for seniors, and they're very appreciative of your kind words. - Katie, VP of Marketing & Communications
The move m experience was for from positive(January 2017). They were supposed to have room painted, carpet cleaned and furniture that was there taken out so we could move my other own furniture in. Two days prior to our scheduled move in, we called Lisa Merrill to make sure this ward would be all set and was assured it would be on move in day, when had arranged for help from friends/family to helpful. the morning, upon arrival to keep sure the room had furniture in it, walls were dirty and unpainted + carpet had not been cleaned. Unfortunately we had no choice but to move in once the furniture there had been taken out. Though Lisa was aware of my anger and disappointment, she was more interested in getting the cheque from us. The worst have since been fixed but it made for a stressful start inn what was already a stressful situation. Some staff are great and worked hard to amend the situation. Others did not.
