Best place for Dad - caring and loving staff

The staff at Peninsula Reflections is truly wonderful. We had just days to choose a memory care center and were so lucky to find Peninsula Reflections. Every member of the staff got to know my dad - they learned to make his favorite tea, what he liked to do in the afternoon and more importantly - they respected his wishes while taking excellent care of him. It is not the fanciest memory care center we saw but the staff is wonderful. The communication was great and we felt that Dad was safe at all times. When he stopped eating, the chef and other staff tried all different things to help him - including running to the bakery for muffins. He was safe, well-cared for, and respected there. We liked that they had quite a number of men and were very experienced with dementia patients.... Read more

Tour of Peninsula Reflections

I visited Peninsula Reflections' facility and I was pretty impressed. I really liked the executive director there, I spoke with her many times. My biggest concern was security because my sister can be a wanderer. As I was going out the front door, I did notice something that turned me off. There was a stick sitting under the door to hold it open, and I immediately thought that anyone could walk into or out of the place. I never mentioned anything to the director, but that did shut me off from the community. I was really looking into this community and seeing that turned me away. Maybe they were bringing something in at that moment, but I just saw it as an escape route. Other than that, the facility was awesome and the director was really great. Peninsula Reflections was my second choice, but I chose another community instead.

It Was Not The Best Experience

My husband did not stay long at this facility. He was sent to the ER twice. They can improve by keeping communication with the residents family and their members.

Comfort for mom!

We love it so far, it has been great and was what we considered the best in that area. In our search what we found with peninsula reflection is that it is a smaller community and it did not feel like an institution. It seemed like a little more personable, not hospital like. It does have everything necessary to care for someone in need of memory care. It is what we were looking for. The billing and invoicing are kind of confusing, an example would be that our bill is in conjunction with the long term care insurance and it is difficult to determine what has been paid.
