High Touch care for Parkinson's

All 5s, except 4 on meals. They're fine given the audience but I don't visit my mom with the purpose of having an amazing meal! Overall they've been very on top of care, and are enabling my mom to live as independely as possible with advanced Parkinson's (w/o going to Memory care or needing additional nursing care yet), as long as possible... Wonderful care

We brought our sister-in-law to Aegis after the hospital. We did not feel safe taking her home. Aegis had “respite care” for anyone needing temporary help. The staff was wonderful, orienting us on what needed to be done. They provided a room fully furnished for us to move in right away. Through their care, my sister-in-law felt safe and at home. She has recovered to 90% now.

Overall great care and attention

My mother is currently a resident at Aegis of San Francisco. The staff is very caring and thorough, handling a lot of support for an advanced Parkinson's patient. I would appreciate greater responsiveness/transparency when it comes to overall medical strategy and appointment scheduling. But overall, I'm very pleased and we're getting better care than at our previous Assisted Living facility. The only ding on staff is that the Medical Director isn't responsive to emails, but otherwise solid.

A Good Community

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is a good place overall. The staff are very nice to work with. The call response times from the time the resident's clicks the call button could be improved upon. The food is enjoyed by my loved one.

A Place for Mom has scored Aegis of San Francisco 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
