Parsons House La Porte

I would give them an overall 5 on everything. Their residents are happy, the staff is great, the food is enjoyable, and the care of the patients is great. When speaking to families of the other residents, I have only heard how pleased everyone is with Parsons House. I highly recommend this place for loved ones.

I couldn't ask for a better place to live at. All the staff are friendly and super nice in helping our director. Every resident has treated me and everyone else respectfully and friendly. It's very easygoing here. Thanks for all.

When I came here from Phoenix, this place was like heaven. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and pleasant - residents and staff. After over 1.5 years, everything is still the same. I have made a lot of friends among residents, staff.

My loved one absolutely loves it there...especially the workers. I think the friendliness, kindness, patience, and the recognition of her individual gifts is what separates Parson's House from her first home. I don't have any improvements to share.

We were pleasantly surprised that there was pretty much no adjustment period. Mom went right in there, and in those first two weeks, they really pay a lot of attention to the residents and make sure they get settled in. They sat her at a table with a group of people they felt she would fit in with. We couldn't be happier. She doesn't talk about dying anymore. She's made friends, and she's always telling me "I have to go eat and meet up with my friends." We're very pleased.

Parsons House went above and beyond in a time of need. They truly care and have staff that have been there for more than 20 years which is rare. It’s not brand new but it’s definitely clean, and has a great feeling when you walk in. Everyone from Housekeeping, dining, management, and caregivers are very friendly. I love how it’s family owned. This is the only place I didn’t feel pressured after every place I visited that seemed about making a sale. They took the time to listen without feeling rushed and gave me support and resources to put my mind at ease while my loved one was at home until placement. This type of service is rare these days.

I've already told others about Parsons House La Porte for the care of their loved ones. I will keep on recommend this community. My loved one is very happy and thriving since we moved them to this community. The staff are great to work with and they are helpful and nice.

I love that this community is family-owned and some of the staff have been there either since the beginning or shortly after. There doesn't seem to be the turnover that there is some other places. The beauty shop and movie theater are great, and I like the family dining room they have for when their residents "have company." I met the Exec Director who was very nice. The marketing director did not use high pressure but tried to show how they are like a family, and it really seems like it is. I saw residents gathered to watch TV, play games, talk, etc. Everyone known everyone's names. It is Christ-centered which is a plus. Things I didn't like were the floor plans are all studios. Some division between living and bedroom, even if just a short wall, would make it feel less like a hospital room or hotel room. They seemed fairly small, even the large and deluxe rooms because they are studios. Bathrooms were nice. Cable and phone are not included. The outdoor area I saw in back was a gazebo and some gardening areas. No courtyards in the middle for residents to sit an enjoy outside their rooms. What this lacked in shiny, new decor, it made up for in warmth. My tour guide seemed genuine, and not just like she was trying to sell me a room. I just wish it was closer to where I live. And I wish the cost was a little less.

The staff is helpful, courteous, and friendly and the community is neat and clean. The food is also very good and my loved one enjoys it. I would recommend this community to others

The staff members at Parsons House were very personable, caring and very eager to give us the help we needed. They always pointed us in the right direction. We thought the rooms were perfect size, and the bathrooms were nice and large. It had everything our loved one needed.

Some activities Parsons House had were board games, card games and exercise classes. Our loved one was in the memory care and it didn't seem like they were keeping a close eye on her like they should of. She was able to get out two times, and on the second time she was told to leave. Her room was more on the smaller side but it worked out perfectly for her, and she like the food most of the time.

It is a fantastic place but there was a lack of communication. It seemed like they would wait for last minute to notify us of when she would run out of medications and when she was moving out. The caregivers were fantastic. My mother was well taken care of her. I chose this community because of its location being close to our family. I would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

I am very impressed with Parsons House. The residents were celebrating Halloween by voting on the best costume and everyone seemed very happy. The staff is wonderful and very helpful.
