It's a very difficult transition for anyone and at any stage in their life. When searching for my husbands care he would not have been so at home as he was with Ivy Court. It's SO important to shop and interview both the patient and the facility. He was very much an introvert so the smaller Homer facility was best for him. I however need more things going on. It doesn't matter which best fits - what matter is it fits... Read more

Parkland Village is a very friendly place. And my dad likes it there. He enjoys eating meals in the dining room. I think the care is adequate. I've had a few questions / concerns, but they've e been resolved.

I first met with Katherine L. two years ago, looking for a place for my Mother-in-Law. I had checked out 4 other properties in the MacMinville area. I talked it over with the family, and when the time came, we placed her in a cottage just until her dementia progresses to the point when Mom can no longer take care of herself. All staff at Parkland are kind and considerate. I would highly recommend this property to others. Sincerely, Karen J. Currie

Excellent small community for independent living for my parents who moved from a rural setting. The residents are very proud of their cottages and add very colorful landscape plants in addition to the supplied maintenance. The age difference spans 20-30 years difference which adds a nice diversity. The 3 meals a day provided is wonderful even with the nice full kitchens in each cottage. My parents rave about the quality of the food! The staff is friendly, helpful, and very ready to assist in any request. I am comforted that this facility offers a long term situation for my parents who some day will need assisted living and won't need to change facilities. They moved 2,000 miles to be close to me and they were delighted with this choice! It is not often that a move that distance can be met with great satisfaction when you are 90 years old and change is always hard.

I don't get the chance to visit often myself as I am located out of state, but from what I have heard from my relatives Mom is absolutely thrilled with Parkland, and is really thriving here!

A Place for Mom has scored Parkland Village 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
