Even though it's a facility as such, the staff provide very individualized and personalized care. They pay attention to the different moods and needs of each resident. The only minor issue is they don't currently have an activities director, but they're actively looking to hire one.

The rooms are very spacious. The staff is absolutely awesome and caring. This was on the lower end of the cost spectrum and felt you get a lot for your money. I've been very pleased with our experience. The other residents I have run into have been very pleasant. They seem very happy here as well.

These comments are all based on our experience during Covid, and everything is just harder under Covid. But I have experienced great helpfulness and great effort from the staff on my part. My loved one had a very bad experience at a rehab center, and they really worked hard to make her feel safe here. They're a little low staffed on the weekends, but that's the only critical thing I'd have to say. They're not perfect, but they're human, and pretty good. I would recommend them to people, especially if your family member needs a little bit of extra help but not a lot. My loved one tells me how clean they keep her room and how clean they keep everything. This is coming form a person who always used to iron her curtains. So if she says it's clean, it's clean!

We have recommended to friends to check it out for their parents. We have been very comfortable placing my mother-in-law there. She isn't really an activity person, she has participated in some activities. The food is fine, if they didn't have something she enjoyed then they would make her something else.

The community is small so the staff are able to keep up with the cleanliness. We have never gone in and had any complaints. The staff have really taken their time with my mother-in-law and gotten to know her. They speak very kindly to her and acknowledge us when we come in and have really made an effort to get to know the families at the community. We do feel Nova Springs Assisted Living is a good value for the price. We are very glad we settled here and we feel our mother-in-law is receiving much better care here than at the other communities we looked at. Her accommodations are great and they will allow you to truly age in place. We would recommend them without reservation!

We couldn't be more pleased with the care our 90-year-old mom has received the last 6 months. The director, [name removed], is concerned about each and every resident in this very small facility. If there is something you think would help your loved one, just mention it to [name removed] and, whoosh, it's taken care of. The other staff members take loving care of Mom and will do anything they can to keep her healthy and happy. [Name removed], the activities director, plans lots of fun projects and events, like tie-dye shirts, Bingo, Christmas decorations, sing-a-longs, canine visitors, garden planting, etc. for the residents' enjoyment. I read some of the other less-favorable reviews and believe they must have been written before the current director and owners were in charge. Mom has made friends and enjoys the family-style atmosphere.

Nova Springs was a disappointment. Although the staff was welcoming and the facility was relatively clean, the safety features the manager claimed to be in place were not available. My family member was not monitored as needed and we were not alerted when there was an acute change in mental status. Staff was not properly trained in safely transitioning clients and pertinent information regarding our family member was not communicated to the staff in a timely manner. Policies and fees changed once our family member was taken to the hospital and my elderly father received inappropriate telephone calls demanding payment for services that were not applicable. Nova Springs also attempted to charge us for going through "A Place for Mom."

This is a 16 bed facility , in the midest of lot of open land , sandymont park , Finksburg library, the rooms are very clean and well maintained. The facility gives a very home like environment , daily fresh meals . One on one care , personal interaction and a physician manager in house . The procedures are very organized, and the costs are very reasonable based on the services . The facility is managed by very experienced staff . I strongly recommend this place

This is a small (total of 16 rooms) facility located next to the public library and across the street from a nice park. It is easy to get to but only has parking for 8 or 9 vehicles at a time; although there is a LOT of parking across the street at the park. The place is very clean, the food is prepared fresh every day, the staff is very friendly. The only real downside is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of organized activities. They don't have TVs in the rooms in order to encourage the residents to congregate together in the main room.

Location and building itself is very country feel. Maybe because the new ownership just took over they have yet to establish any procedure and or process. Very false advertising about the quality of care.

A Place for Mom has scored Nova Springs Assisted Living 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
