My loved one wasn't there very long, but it was very nice. The people were friendly, and helpful. House keeping and dining staff all introduced themselves. They were helpful in setting up pt/ot/ and speech therapy. Help with reminding her about the activities she was interested in attending

Northpoint Village of Utica is family owned, which makes a huge difference. It's more attention, it doesn't have that corporate feel and you're not just a number. They take better care of the entire place, because a lot of the owners' family works there.

Northpoint is a very clean community, and the staff members are wonderful. The meals are good and the dining service is very good. The activities are fine and the two ladies who are in charge of them are wonderful. I do think the value for cost is good.

My mother has been at Northpoint for the last three to four years. The staff and management has always put her well-being first before anything else. She has not been any happier since she first became a resident. The staff always have a way with special activities to show everyone a good time. There is something different for the residents to participate in everyday complete with snacks and projects. The food is first class with sit down dinning complete with cloth trove red tables. The staff is always ready to contact resident family’s with any concerns that may arise. We can’t say enough about this senior living residence.

My parents really enjoy the outdoor seating areas the balconies and courtyards with fountains. They have done a good job during Covid-19 managing the guests. They could improve on communication, I get letters in response to issues when emails would be more timely.

While my aunt was living there, some of the techs who passed out medications, had not updated their trainings, and legally could not pass meds. She was on Lipitor, which was to be taken at night. They were giving it to her at 3pm. I tried to tell the young man it was not accurate, and he became belligerent with me. They refused to help us get her luggage to her room after a vacation. They wanted to know if they could show her room to a prospective renter. We asked them not to because we still had suitcases all over the place, plus I had my dog there. They barged in anyways and let my dog out of the apartment before I could grab him. I could go on and on about the way they violated her civil rights.

Everyone has been so welcoming to my Aunt! I have yet to speak to any resident that does not like it there, they often say they only wish they had moved there sooner! My Aunt loves the on-site chapel, meals, helpful employees and her apartment to name a few. We thought this would be a rough move given Auntie had been in her home for 81 years! She was nervous and we comforted her and gently pushed her over the finish line. We knew she would adapt and love it in time, but in just two days she was so very happy to be there! We visited many very places, this one was special. We narrowed down to two and had Auntie decide. It was an easy decision for her. We are all so happy.

Mom is still adjusting to living at this community. They offer plenty of daily activities. She gets a calendar of the activities for the month. The food is decent and looks good. The staff are very nice and helpful. They keep the community clean and I would recommend it.

A Place for Mom has scored Northpoint Village of Utica 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
