Morningside House is located in the heart of historic Leesburg beside the Washington and Old Dominion walking path and just steps away from the Leesburg Senior Center. Walk to Raflo Park or downtown Leesburg and enjoy browsing through the antique or boutique stores and coffee shops. Market Station is just across the street with a restaurant and cafe set in a 19th century renovated grain mill.
Our residents enjoy studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments all with private bath and kitchenette. When you are looking for an assisted living community for a loved one they will all have amenities, however it is the care that should be your number one priority. The residents at Morningside House receive exceptional individualized care from dedicated staff and this is why we are the premier assisted living in the Leesburg community.

What we like about the community is the friendly staff. However, they could improve on quality of food and variety of food.

There are activities for those that are interested but there is little or nothing done to encourage those who are hesitant. Also, communication with family needs improvement. Looks nice though and is in a nice location

My mom was there for a short time and in poor health. However our experience with Morningside was very positive. Morningside House of Leesburg is very welcoming. It was nice that it was a full apartment. And that she had independence with a safety net. We felt that she had the level of care she needed.

The atmosphere is good and everyone is friendly at this facility. It's clean. I definitely like it better than the previous facility that my loved one was in. I'm just not always happy with the quality of care that my loved one receives. I'm hoping that it's a 'getting to know you' process and that things will get better. Sometimes I think I expect too much, but it's my loved one....how can you not? As far as the staff, as always, you have some good people and some not so good people. It's a smaller facility. My loved one chooses not to participate in the activities, but I know that they do have them available. I haven't tried the food, but I've heard no complaints from my loved one. I've heard similar quality of care concerns from friends with loved one's in other facilities, some that are much more expensive. So I kind of feel like this just is what it is and that it's like that everywhere. Overall, I think I would say that yes I'd recommend this facility to family and friends.

I toured this facility and it was great! Good price, but I didn't like the location (rooms did not have very many tree views, also it's in a busy section of downtown Leesburg). The rooms were okay, but the age of the building is showing in places like the dining room and entry.
It was a clean community. They were friendly. The interaction with the staff was pretty good. My loved one liked the food. They created a nice homey environment, which was pleasant. They could do better, with maintaing attention to detail with the residents.

This community is clean and friendly and the staff are on point with all things. Per value, location and what all is giving in the community it is worth it. If anything could be improved it would be the cleanliness and care services.

It's been a positive experience overall, and my mom is happy there. We have one ongoing complaint, which is the response time of the staff when she asks for help. I would understand if it took 10-15 minutes, but often it's 30 minutes to an hour, and that's not okay. When I talk to them about it, they will say they're all over it and are very concerned, but it doesn't seem to have gotten better, even after mentioning it several times. I'm not sure if they're short-staffed, or what he problem is. . . But everybody is friendly - administration, staff, most residents. The food is okay and plentiful. We just tend to be picky and find it a bit mediocre.

We have nothing bad to say about Morningside, our loved one really enjoyed be there. The staff members were absolutely wonderful and our loved one really enjoyed the meals they provided. The only thing she did have to say was at times was it felt like they were understaffed. Especially during this past year with covid and sometimes when bad weather would come like snow storms.

I visit a resident at Morningside several times a week and I am impressed with the entire staff and how warm and knowledgeable they are. They make the residents feel comfortable and are always there to help. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to a family member or friend.

Response from Morningside House of Leesburg
February 18, 2020Thank you for sharing your experience! We love that you have enjoyed your time in our community and are so glad our commitment to providing the best lifestyle to our residents shows!
Not that confident they will do a great job with loved one. Got the feeling it was more about the money than the overall care. I was introduced to the Executive Director as well. I will try somewhere else.

Really not confident they would do the best job for our loved one. They fussed more over renovations and did not seem all that interested or even in tune with care for a dementia resident.
