My dad entered memory care at Morning Star in 2023. Either my mom or I was with him daily. So we spent many hours there. Morning Star is a beautiful facility. It looks clean and smells clean. However, it doesn't appear they have enough staff for all of the people in memory care. Because we were always there, we made sure my dad had what he needed. Many people don't have visitors and it seems they can be put in front of the tv very easily. The regular staff is amazing. [names removed] are angels. But weekends are short handed and nurses were often on staff that we didn't know. Generally they do a wonderful job, but there are certainly stand out people working there. Like any senior center, I'd recommend that you show up for your loved one because things can be overlooked. My dad passed away in November of 2023, and I believe he was happy there.... Read more

Response from MorningStar of Beaverton
March 5, 2021Thank you for taking the time to review your positive experience at MorningStar!
I would want others to know who are looking into MorningStar that you need to be an advocate for your loved ones in here, you need to constantly be int touch with them. My loved one was having some medical issues and they did not communicate it with us. They do have a very high turnover of staff members and that is not just because of covid. I do not think that the value for the money is here.

Very impressed with this facility: excellent location, beautiful design, rooms seem slightly larger, cats OK possibly into Memory Care if resident able to care for it, will have raised garden beds, immediate availability. Concerns are that facility is not yet full (possibly not enough social interaction) and price may be too high for her budget.

A Place for Mom has scored MorningStar of Beaverton 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
