My mother had been going thru a very difficult time since November 2018, and prior to that date. She had injured her back and was at another facility located in Northport Alabama which she did not like at all. Living in another state and traveling to Alabama once a month to ensure she was receiving the care she required and quite frankly she was paying for. In December 2018, I was looking to move my Mom to a different facility, knowing that she could not live alone which we previously tried. I made the decision to move my mother into Morning Pointe, from the very first telephone call to the office, the staff there went out of there way to help me with this difficult time. Prior to even moving in the staff would answer questions and assist me with issues that would arise pertaining to my mother. My mother was placed into memory care, where she has improved greatly, to the point we are moving her to be closer to family, I visited a few times unannounced and always found my mothers living area clean and my mother always dressed properly and her clothes clean. Our family owes a big thank you to [name removed] the Director and her staff. During times like this, family members are concerned about their loved ones, thanks for making it more comfortable for my mother as well as the family.... Read more

This place is Horrible! Management needs alot of improvement, the advertising and look of the place is nice, but the service is Terrible! My mom fell several times here, I had to get sitters due to the falls, so imagine how much money we were spending out. My mom room was not clean , she barely brushed her teeth, they didn't wash them up nor give showers like needed, some of the other residents smelled horrible, the staff seems to not have the proper training to deal with dementia residents, they are not providing a meaningful day, dignity and respect nor any of the other services they say they provide, my mom ate a sausage with bell peppers and rice and roll what older person needs to be eating that as a nutritional meal, the lady at the front desk smell like alcohol sometimes, they have a new director that I nor other families ever met , i found a pill on my mom's floor, I get calls that she needs pull ups and soap because she is out which is an inconvenience when they could have called when she started to run low not when she is completely out , the director of nursing is too unprofessional and rude, they have no regular nurses ,its hard to get through on the phone line, the activities are sitting around most of the time when I visit, they did have a very nice lady who was doing a great job with activities and she got terminated for a very petty reason but she was the nicest person in memory care. They have a big staff turn over, dont be fooled by the advertising of the services and quality care that they do not deliver on, this is a money making facility , they dont even have enough staff working to properly care for everyone in memory care. Stat away!

Management is horrible the nursing director [name removed] talks to the families very mean the about serious concerns, the director [name removed] does whatever she say even when its wrong and does not address any of the complaints, several families, staff, and residents have complained about it and nothing was done. The residents smell horrible and the family continues to buy clothes that keep getting lost. The place would probably be better with a new director, head nurse and better staff. The staff that work with them are disrespectful and loud. Its surely not worth the time or money for this place. I am moving my mom in 2 months, I already have my notice typed and I talked with 2 more families who have had enough also, we should have been left 2 years ago!! Corporate needs to go in and talk with resident families, residents and staff in confidence

We like this community for my mom's care. the staff is always keeping me informed on her progress or setbacks. The menu is outstanding and they offer her a lot of great healthy meals. The community is clean and a nice environment. I like knowing that she is always involved in the activities with the residents. We would highly recommend this community for all the wonderful benefits of care for a loved one.

After getting hundreds of recommendations from people online & touring several facilities, my father selected Morning Pointe & has been very happy with his decision so far (he’s been there for a month now). Everything is always so clean and fresh smelling. The food is good & if he doesn’t like what’s on the menu, they make him something else. Everyone is also very friendly! He’s always talking about [Removed]; “[Removed] said this”, “[Removed] said that”, “[Removed] did this for me”, “[Removed] took us to this place”. They seem to be his favorite people there! ? They’re also very patient with him. After his stroke he lost all impulse control, so he can be very impatient & demanding, but they never lose their temper with him. Overall, we’re both very happy with Morning Pointe & extremely thankful they had an opening when we needed it.

We put my dad in for 18 days of respite care. He went in walking talking feeding himself and brushing his teeth. We were on vacation and had to call them and say take him to the hospital after letting him sit there for two days with no water or food.He came out going to ER and iICU. After 12 days on the hospital we brought him home with Hospice. And we don't know if he will make it through the weekend. They should not have taken him and should have sent him home when they realized they could not care for him. I am so sorry I trusted them with my father.

My Mother is doing great at Morning Pointe, better than we thought and she's more active. They seem to keep her busy with activities. They are doing a great job. I give the friendliness of the staff a 5 plus. I recommend friends to have their parents go here as well. My Mother likes the food and said last week she had the best lunch she's ever had.

They have been absolutely excellent at Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa. I work in assisted living for my job so I see the whole range of facilities. What strikes me the most is the Ritz Carlton service here. We requested mom have a bathtub in her bathroom so they gave her one but the door to it needed repairing. They quickly got someone out to fix it immediately. Anything we seem to ask for they do. The food is the only thing I can think of that could use some improving, it's not that good. Mom is singing praises at this facility!

Dad was only at Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa for two days before he passed away. That being the case I did not get enough exposure to the place to have a lot of feedback, but during the short period I will say that the people there were super super nice, and it would have been a great place for him to be.

They've done a good job here so far, and my loved one seems to be settling in well. We did have a bit of a scare when we moved her in, where even after they evaluated her and we got her all moved in they said that she'd have to move out since her care needs were too high. She did end up recovering a bit and became something that they could manage, but that whole ordeal did sour the experience a bit.

I went on a Saturday without an appointment ... usually a sure sign you can't get any information or a tour but ... this group was so friendly. The facility was immaculate. The few workers I saw (it was almost dinner time) were very friendly and spoke to the residents by name. I saw several of the residents who seemed happy and content and very well treated by those working there. I liked Morning Point very much but found that it was out of our price range.
