My father in law has been at Montabaur for over 6 years and has had a great time. The have accommodating staff and a well kept facility. Both of my parents have done independent living in multiple facilities in WNY before passing away. Recently, I had a chance to try the food at Montabaur, pretty darn good for every meal I had, breakfast, lunch and dinner were really very good. I don’t know if there are current openings, but it is a great facility.... Read more

Noise in the dining room is a big drawback for us. It is a large dining room. Insufficient sound absorption makes chatting during dinner very, very difficult. This is our primary time to socialize. Many residents have hearing problems so a quiet environment for communicating is especially important. If this was improved, our score for Montabaur Heights would go way up. At first MH seems expensive but, adding all expenses, our monthly cost here is the same as the condo we moved from. But here there is no way to economize, like on purchasing food. The rent is set. A monthly fee of $500 is added for a second person living here.

A Place for Mom has scored Montabaur Heights 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
