I didn't give them highest marks in some categories, but overall I feel this has been a good experience. We've had few minor problems, but I give them a E for effort. The most significant event was when an outgoing employee informed us that [name removed] was being asked to leave. This was on a Friday and we spent the weekend trying to find a a male only situation for him. On Monday we called back and found the head nurse we spoke to no longer worked there and [name removed] was perfectly welcome.... Read more

Response from Mirror Lake Village Senior Living Community
February 20, 2024Thank you for your review and kind words. We will be sure to pass them along to the team at Mirror Lake Village!
My experience was satisfactory and I have no complaints. I rate all a "4". The Memory Care was understaffed staff and yet were attentive and responsive to patient needs. Basically, Mirror Lake met our needs for our family member for the short six weeks he was in their care along with Evergreen Hospice Care.

Response from Mirror Lake Village Senior Living Community
July 17, 2023Thank you for your review. We're glad that we met your needs during your loved one's stay.
I would give them all "0" if it were an option. If you love your loved one, don't go here. Do your research, not one should be placed at this facility.

I was not happy with Mirror Lake and I would not recommend them. First they told me there was a nurse on staff, but turns out it's an LPN, not a nurse. The LPN was making decisions on whether or not to call 911 when my loved one got ill. He told me that my loved ones vitals were fine and if he called 911 they wouldn't come and they wouldn't take him to the hospital. I called 911 myself; they took him to the hospital and they diagnosed him with Covid. They sent him back to Mirror Lake and they wouldn't let me see him for five days because of quarantine. On the sixth day, I called to let them know I'd be visiting that day. They said they were actually sending him back to the hospital because he was in really bad condition, but they never called me at all to say his condition had changed. On the first day I called to see how he was doing and they said he was just resting and sleeping. I'm familiar with Covid, so I said okay...that's par for the course and I'll come back to see him on the sixth day. They raced him back to the hospital and when I got to the hospital, the doctor said he wouldn't survive because his lungs were so bad. I told their administration this: I feel that they left him lying flat during those five days, even though we bought a bed that has a part that can raise his head. Although I can't prove it, I just know they left him lying flat, which caused the infection to spread to his lungs. Within five days he went from perfect vital signs with 99% oxygen saturation, to gasping for every breath. Unfortunately, he passed three days later. The people who took care of him on daily basis, the ones who fed him and cared for him, those people were wonderful. They were very good. It was the people at the decision making level that were not. Another example: I knew he had an eye infection and I kept having meetings with the medical guy (who I thought was a nurse). I kept saying that something was wrong with his eye, because it looked really bad. I asked if he could look at it or if their house physician could, and they never got to it. He came back and said, "Oh. I forgot. I'll take a picture of it and send it to our doctor". When I had him put in the hospital, I asked the ER doctor to check on his eye. They looked at it and immediately said that there was an infection, but no one at Mirror lake would look at it or do anything about it - even though I met with them on three different occasions. Overall - I would not recommend Mirror Lake Village to others.
Read MoreOur family had an in person tour and it was a good overall tour experience but location was very important to us so ultimately this community was not going to be suitable for our loved one.
They are a newer facility and growing their employees and getting into the swing of things which we understood but we were having issues with the home health aids and communication. We were being told one thing by the home health aids and then other things from the nurse onsite at the community. The communication could be improved, but the staff members were wonderful and such angels.

It is a good place for the elderly. The community looks clean and new. It looks like they are doing a good job. There is only one activities director currently, and I think there could be more activities offered. The one assisted living activities director is taking care of the activities for the memory care and assisted living

The staff are very knowledgeable, caring, and go out of their way. I would highly recommend the community to others. It is very convenient to get in and out of. Everyone is enthusiastic about what they are doing. The communication with updates on COVID could be better for the residents.

A Place for Mom has scored Mirror Lake Village Senior Living Community 7.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
