We picked this community, because my loved one was very young and fortunately had money. We didnt want nursing home atmosphere and this was more hotel like and had options if improvement. It started great, but only lasted one month. They said he was doing better and we had to pick him up and figure out other options with 30 day notice.... Read more

Overall, our experience has been good. The facility is very clean. My husband's bathroom has not been as clean as it should be, but to be fair, he is blind and has bowl issues and has a Foley catheter, so they are dealing with him needing extra care. They have been short staffed but it has been better since Cornerstone has been preparing to take over October 1st. As for activities, I can't speak for that as my husband does not tolerate a lot of noise well, so he does not like to participate. The CNA nurses have been so sweet to him but could use more training and more help. As I said before, they have hired more people so it is better now. Overall, I am happy with the facility. They seem to be trying to do their best.

Activities could probably be geared more toward the clientele. It was kind of a generic, one-size-fits-all approach, although I know they're limited on manpower to execute that. The staff was stretched kind of thin, but there were a couple of nurses who took good care of my dad and did a good job. Dad seemed happy with the people who were seeing to his needs as well. The maintenance side of things was a bit lacking. It took several calls to get some things resolved in his individual unit.

A Place for Mom has scored Memory Care at Englefield Green 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
