Ivy Place has a special meaning to my family. Our first experience was with our dad. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and for safety reasons we needed to find an assisted living so our mom could be with him. They were able to live together about a year and a half. As my dad's illness progressed, he had a series of falls and eventually fractured his femur. After rehab we needed to place him in another memory unit. This is how we found Ivy Place. He lived there for 9 months and then passed away. The care he received at this facility was far more coordinated than the other places we had him. The staff treated him like family and welcomed us as well. My mom lived 8 1/2 years more after my dad passed. She got sick with pneumonia at 96 and nearly died. Because of her health condition, she needed more care. Once again we sought out Ivy place. Once again my mom was treated with compassion, the care was excellent, and was able to recover from her illness. She lived at IVY Place for a little over 2 years. I can say the staff was so kind and loving to her. My mom was always dressed in clean clothing, had regular home cooked meals, her room was always put together--bed made, clothing put away, and staff met her health needs. My mom also passed away at her last home--Ivy Place. During this difficult time, the staff offered endless support. The administrator even came to check on us and offer her condolences. My mom had been in 3 different assisted living facilities over the years and I can honestly say she never got the care and attention that she received at Ivy Place. They took care of her as I would have--I am a nurse.... Read more

This property is beautiful, there is lots of great scenery with blooming flowers everywhere. My loved one seems to really liking the meals they provide and is starting to get a little more involved in the activities they have throughout the day. I have no complaints about this community.

I chose this community because it is well staffed with trained staff. My mother is at the point in her dementia where she just needs a bit more attention and they work hard to give it give them that here. They don't do a lot of activities but my mom is not likely to join in to them either. They have a nice great room area for residents to hang out. Her personal room is not large but it is very well done with wainscoting and a private bath. The home is remodeled and warm and welcoming. I know as my mom needs more help that they can handle it. I feel confident and have trust in the caregivers for doing good loving care and that is the most important thing of all.
