The staff was fine and very nice at Magnolia Gardens. Communication with the family was good via phone and email. Mom was in hospice for the last 2 years and Medicaid since June and they did keep her in a single room. I do think when hospice is there, the Management staff lags with regards to work. As for food, mom was on a strained food diet so can't comment.... Read more

Our family had an in person tour with Magnolia Gardens and the basic studio apartment was smaller than the [community name removed] apartment. The room my sister would have to take was too far for her to walk to the dining room. However, the dining hall, Theater Room, and overall attractiveness of Magnolia was better than [community name removed] . Magnolia wanted 2x as much money guaranteed than SO.
We toured Magnolia Gardens during our search for care for our loved one. This facility was not as clean as most of the others that we toured. They also didn't offer a good variety of activities. The atmosphere was kind of terrible, residents just hanging out in the hallways, yelling, etc.

As far as value it's quite good. We are more than satisfied. They are caring, exceptionally clean and a well cared for facility. Our family member suffers from dementia and cannot recall any of our names and faces but she smiles and responds to her care givers there. This proves to us that their care goes beyond the necessary to the exceptional. She is well fed, clean and content. Magnolia Gardens is quick to return calls and schedules regular meetings to keep us informed about her every need and every medical issue. We are extremely pleased that A Place For Mom recommended this facility.

Nice, clean a little on the darker side, not to much sunlight, studio room ok, definitely will put you in a room share once on Medicaid

The staff members are very responsive, kind and friendly. The activities were pretty limited but they did play music and voice games over the intercom. Compared to other facilities and what we are paying for the care the value is phenomenal.

We are very pleased with the level of care and attentiveness of the staff at Magnolia Gardens. There are a variety of activities scheduled for the residents. Activities weren't a major concern for us since my mother prefers not to participate in most of them. Staff made a great effort to understand the personality of my mother and let her live at her own pace.

I noticed an odor as soon as we walked in. Dark and dreary. Not much activity besides residents sitting around. Movie room definitely had a moldy odor. Rooms were ok but we weren't able to see one that was unoccupied. Being an RN I would not place anyone here especially a loved one.

We are in the process of working with Magnolia Gardens on the application process. We liked the "medical approach" that included visiting doctors so there would be no need to take my mother off-site.

We toured this community for my father. They did not have the care that we needed for my father. The community was clean but needed some updates. The activities are offered to the residents. We would recommend this community for families to tour for the care of a loved one.

So far everything is working out pretty well for my mother with her move to this community. I do feel she is safe, and in good hands. This is a pretty nice facility, and all is well so far for us in this community.

We did not have a memory care that we were needing. The staff was nice and did answer questions, but this was not what we needed for my mom. due to memory care. They have a lively community and seem to have alot of activities. We were not able to see if the food was appealing. Families might want to see if this would fit the needs for there loved ones for good care.

I like the care that my wife is getting here. The staff is nice an caring. She does not seem to like alot of the meals that are offered here. They do offer her alot of activities, but she does not participate. I am happy that this community is clean. We would recommend this for over all good care and value to other families and there loved ones.

It took some time for my aunt to adjust to this community, but so far everything is going well. She is finally getting settled into the community, and seems to be as happy as expected. She says the food is good, and the meals are nice. I'am comfortable with the care she is being provided with. They are taking good care of her, and I would recommend this community.

This has to be the cleanliest facility I have ever seen. Even the residents would agree. My grandmother is doing very well here. They have lovely staff here, they are really good at what they do. My only concern has been with the meal schedule. They have two different seating times, which I feel can be confusing to the residents. That would be my only issue with this community. Overall they have a great nursing staff, I know she is being care for well. This is a community I would recommend.

So far we are very happy with them. It hasn't been very long yet, but I don't have any complaints at this time. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. They have activities and the food is fine. So far I would say they get a five, but it's still early.

The interior looked old. They did have activities that we saw going on. I didn't like their shared rooms; they were very tiny and you had to share one bathroom. I kind of thought it was dark inside but that would have been my choice out of everything that we saw up to that point. Then we found somewhere that was so bright and cheery we chose that one.

A Place for Mom has scored Magnolia Gardens 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
